Celebrities and their friends

I was playing Bridgeport and noticed something weird.
My Sim was working as a designer and performed jobs for different celebrities, so obviously she became 5-level celebrity herself rather quickly.
That is when it got weird - some sim-weeks later I have noticed that all her celebrity acquaintances became her friends. I started monitoring it and noticed that everyday the relationship meter became higher and higher, thus making them BFFs in the end.

Did anyone experienced something like that? I'm inclined to think that this is a glitch, but just wanted to check.
Or maybe it got nothing to do with her being a celebrity and was because she was a designer.

I certainly need to do some tests:)

It might be because you had it on the working option, "Hang Out With Co-Workers." That's what happens when you constantly hang with them at work.

DarthCookie, I thought about that but the sim was stylist so no such option.

Anyway - I did some test, I played Jamie Jolina (townie from Sunset Valley), she was not a celebrity but knew several celebrities (but not friends). And I noticed that during the night she sometimes gets a new memory. I looked that memories - and they were something like "befriended a celebrity". And it was all in the night when she was sleeping!

Then the only answer is it must be a glitch of some type.  I've never had one glitch in my game and I'm not even updated to the latest patch.  I notice with some of the new patches, there is also a problem that comes along.

I have experienced this both when Late Night just came out and now with the latest patch and all EPs.
I even re-installed the game completely twice but this bug is still there. But maybe this is not a bug but a feature

I have had that a couple of times, where when they are sleeping they get the memory of befriending someone, whether they are a celebrity or not.  I also know if you have a few charisma skill points, that your friendship goes higher, especially in a profession.

I've noticed sometimes with my 5 star celebrity that her relations rise; but not to BFF. It's like when one of the others is thinking or talking about your sim. Because, sometimes she'll get a yellow plus above her head when she's alone and the memory chime plays. I check her memories and the latest one was "befriended Elvira". She wasn't talking to Elvira or near her.

Found it. I can't quite understand it, so here's the information, stripped to the Relationship levels that get bonuses.

Format: Relatioship Level - Points.

Friend - 1000
Good Friend - 500
Best Friend - 1000
BFF - 1500
Romantic Interest - 1100
Partner - 1750
Fiancee - 2000
Spouse - 3000
