EADM Not Working

Today I opened my sims 3 game and got a message saying "the application failed to initialize properly. Please ensure you are not attempting to run the application on multiple Windows accounts simultaneously. If the problem persists please uninstall the application."

I am not running it on 2 or more Windows accounts and Sims 3 functions fine, but I cannot download any patches for my game. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it and I was wondering if there is anything else I can try?

I have the same issue.  It occured after I purchased and attempted to download Ambitions.

I do not even have Ambitions, so I doubt the game is causing it. Mine has been working perfectly well recently and then yesterday it just faild for no reason!

I get that message all the time.  What I do is open up EADM and log in.  Then I open the launcher and make sure I'm logged in.  I STILL get those messages, but the patch does get installed (eventually).  :-\

It won't let me open EADM. I get that message when I double-click on it to open it. How else can you open it?

Ohh.  One time, I actually had to uninstall EADM and reinstall it.  Umm ... I'm trying to remember where on the EA site I downloaded it from.

Thanks. I'll give it a go - maybe I just downloaded it from the wrong source or something :) It seems like something I would do  :P

EDIT: Just tried it - Nothing. Just got the exact same message  :'(

Hmm ... :( ... not sure what it could be.  Like I said, I get these messages, too ... but I try patching over and over again until the patch installs and it seems to work.

=__=  Bleh.  :)  As long as my patches continue to install ... I won't worry about that whole uninstall/reinstall thing.  But I hope it works for Kaitlin9613. :D

Awww you're so nice :D I hope it works - I'm not the most technical person around, so when things like this happen i generally look like a sim with a ? thought bubble :)

I make it a habit to uninstall and completely wipe Sims 3 from my computer before I install a new pack.  I do a Disk Cleanup and Defrag before reinstalling all of the game packs, and ending with the newest one.  It really helps keep the game running smoothly and gets rid of a lot of issues.  If you do it, though, look on our Technical Help Board for instructions on how to save your game files and how to properly uninstall the game.

This is gonna make me sound quite stupid but what is a Disk Cleanup and Defrag, and how do I do them?
