Although I agree with you with your post Esther, I personally don't think that would work. If everyone would be nice. the whole human kind would get a bit weak. I was looking for another word than 'getting a bit weak' but I could not translate something better. But I hope you do understand what I mean.

If the world is getting nicer and nicer (and eventually too nice), we will have less defence against enemies and we all became soft. You can't be alert and nice at the same time, you know.

Although you could say that when everyone is nice we don't have enemies, this is not considered as true. Too agressive will result in suicide on the long term, but so does too weak. I believe, therefore, that staying somewhere in the middle will be better.

And to drag myself back on topic, I highly agree with Joria. That is exactly the same reason I stay here (not counting in vacations). Obviously that was for me the reason to post but I just couldn't resist to go in discussion with Esther's statement.

Well, ok, I kinda know what you mean. If eveyone was nice, we would be too trusting and trust the wrong person but if everyone was nice there wouldn't be a wrong person to trust right? I'm back from a month offline so I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier!  But back on topic, this place is as nice and awesome as I remembered

Congrats, as well! And this is the biggest thing in my on-line life. I certainly don't spend 4 hours at a time reading and sometimes posting anywhere else. I used to be on the Sim forum, but for whatever reason, I let it get me riled up. I really don't need the extra stress and all I needed to do to stop it was stop going there. But I don't know if I would've found it so easy if I hadn't discovered this forum via the (need I even say, wonderful) Guide. I'm generally a shy, nice, and polite person in RL. I try to be as nice and polite here, and if I'm not, I appreciate I'll be told so. And there are good examples for good behavior as well, which is the best way for everyone to learn, I think.

I am not sure exactly what you mean.  Maybe this... if you click on the 'members' tab, then once that page loads click on the 'posts' tab (right hand side of screen), it will list members by how many posts they have written.  You are currently number 6.

How many post? No, I'm pretty sure this is number 1031 for me. Unless you mean number six for that day, it could be although U haven't noticed it.
What I mean is if we can see which number member I am, registered at the forum. For example: when I was new here I mostly 'saw' Pam, Metro, Illuminator, Swede and SimStar active, so they definatly came before me.

I understand now.  Go to the same place, members and once on that page click on the tab "date registered".  The first page shows members 1-90, the second page 91-180, and so on.  Sorry I did not count for you but you are on the second page about halfway down.  So about number 130ish.  You are number 6 for how many posts have been on the forum total.  Pam was the 2nd person to join the forum (clicked on date registered) and she is number 1 for total posts (clicked on posts).  I am on the bottom half of page 9, somewhere between the 630th to the 720th member to join.  Better?
