Inspiration has been a long time coming lately, but I feel that it was worth the wait. Well, my game crashed while I was playing my life-state Dynasty - so that was a good as an excuse as any to use my new-found inspiration on a build.

I still need to finish a couple of rooms, and do some route testing, but I was incredibly impressed with how real I managed to make it look - especially the roof on the outside - so I thought I'd post a few pics now. The house is based on a house in my street, combined with a few touches from a couple of other houses. The other thing that I need to check is how well my toy-bed arrangement will work out once exported. I'm fairly certain that placing the lot from the bin will ruin the CFE that's suspending the coffee table mid-air under the bed (stupid toys won't sit on a shelf *sulks*)

I think the roof looks awesome. I also like the way the living/dining/kitchen looks, very realistic. Also, the sun effect over the garage was a nice touch. Is that one of the wallpapers that came in conjunction with Lunar Lakes?

That is an amazing house! I can actually imiagine it in my street! Can you still use the bed even with the toy on it? Because if you can that is a great idea!

Thanks guys :D *beams*

That is one of the best compliments I've had yet. I'm really pleased that it turned out so close to the original that you could say that!

Yes, the sun on the roof thing did come with the update for Lunar Lakes - I panicked for a moment there - luckily they included it as a base-game update. Not like the ones that came with Aurora Skies.

I'm loving the house, the giraffe on the bed is adorable!

I've started a lot of builds lately, but not finished them. I'm going to have a whole lot of finishing to do! Here is another shell that I have began work on, once again,  a house on my street, with a few added touches of my own. I've only really done the basic front, because I wanted to see how it fit in the street.

Don't worry about the tear - that will be fixed in the final stage of creating the world. I'll be going around, and removing all the lots, smoothing things out a little, and re-drawing and placing the lots.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aside from a name and description, this house is complete. Seen as how this one, and the previous one, both placed on the same street, are of a somewhat 90's Australian style build (I've no idea what to call it other than that), I have named the street Australia Avenue. The Street behind it, which starts on Lakeside Way (yup, I just made that up right then too), curves around the hospital, and then ends at the equestrian grounds, will be called Victoria Drive, due to the Victorian style builds on it.

Well, back to the old-fashioned homes today. I've been wanting to build a little cottage for ages, and have finally got around to it. Presenting, Sprucewood Heritage Cottage:

It is situated right next to the cat park, and I've made the garden blend over out the front (I may need to add a little dirt in CAW). Initially, I was going to use my own version of the Kat house from Sims 1, but this one just fits beautifully here.

Wow Chuckles! Two more brilliant houses to add to this amazing world! I can't wait to actually be able to play in the world for myself!

Absolutely beautiful. I think this is my favorite build so far. It reminds me of my great-grandparents home in a way.

Great job with the recoloring on the cottage. So quaint and charming. A lot of sims will want to move there.

Those houses are simply beautiful. When the worlds finished, I'm definately downloading it ASAP!

Hopefully that won't be very long now! I think I have only 1 house yet to build, one huge one to finish, a pool and some bars to go. Then a total tidy-up in CAW, and then create and add sims. I will leave space for some University lots if I can, but it was ruled that they can't be placed in the general challenge rules, so I'll leave them out for now, but provide lots to go with it when it is done.

Once again I was very pleased today to be able to create a design and colour scheme that had previously eluded me. After playing with the Daycare Profession for a bit I decided that I needed to have a home daycare centre set up ready to go, if someone wanted to play that profession. I have made the daycare part itself a public area, so that the private upstairs area is affordable as a starter.

So I wanted to look at the size of Cypress Lakes and ended up reading the whole thread and when I reach the end I find a new house has been posted! It looks amazing. It looks different to the usual houses in the world but still looks like it is part of the world.

I cant remember if you were allowing store content in the world or not but I saw that the laundromat was using a fence that I'm pretty sure came with Lucky Palms but not with the patch. Just thought you should know.

Great idea with an apartment over the day care! Homes that aren't functional without rebuilding are one of my pet peeves with EA starters. So it's great that you are including more play-ability with your world.

I'm so excited you are almost done. Have fun creating your sims.
