The elixir shop looks really cool. I hope the elixirs do export. The world wouldn't be allowed for challenges anyway due to the rules of 'Only EA towns and Union Cove.'

I'm kind of hoping that once I'm done I could maybe get it approved for challenges as a small world for lower-end systems. I've put a lot of research into making sure that it has no additional advantages to EA worlds or UC. There is also no store content in this world either. I'll upload some store content lots for it later, as optional extras.

Next up today: the consignment store. I took a bit of a short-cut - but I really really like my cornerstore (TCS) from Summerset Isle - so it got a major reno and is now called "The Blue Shop". Here it is:

Gorgeous. I love your building style, it's very... clean, if that makes sense - clear lines, and even with decorative items and full furnishing, it doesn't look at all cluttered. Really hope this gets approved for challenges!

I think I know what you mean. I have an artist's eye - it's a natural talent. My Nan, who has studied art extensively, often gets me to critique her paintings. I don't have any formal training, but can often pick when something does not look quite right, and what it needs to fix it. Usually it's a matter of balance. For instance, with my consignment store, I placed the three cypress trees in the garden. Then the space behind the bistro/business buildling looked bare, and well, unbalanced. So I switched lots and placed the same arrangement there. It tied it together nicely.

I certainly wish that in real life my house could be as conservative and minimalist as my buildings! My husband is a hoarder, and I have 3 kids, so any hope of clean or minimal went out the window when we got married!

I placed a couple more lots from Summerset Isle, and gave them minor renovations to adjust them to their new lot sizes. I also named a few that I had neglected to name. As much as I didn't like naming things before, I'm quite enjoying the satisfaction of coming up with names and descriptions for my lots that give them character.

Thanks guys :) It's not my usual building style - though I quite like it - I find modern easier though. This is my current work in progress:

I'm really struggling with the interior on this one. I've got one room done. And looking at it, I think I might scrap it (save all my recolours for a different house) and start again with something lighter. The structure is a rebuild of Petite Mansion from MF. I really liked the shape of the house and it's rooms, but not the roof, or the mood of it. It reminds me alot of the house from Charmed.

I'm loving the new additions with the latest patch - the drainpipes and meter box make a house look that bit more realistic. I've even added a puddle underneath one of the drain pipes :D  Not an actual puddle that dries up, and I'm sure with the addition of seasons we'll get actual puddles when it rains, but nevertheless, it added to the realism.

-----

Going for a lighter wood scheme was a much better idea. I have now finally finished the first floor. Whew! What a lot of hard work. I'm hoping for some more curtains with Seasons, as I'm not using store content in this world. The ones I have used are single window curtains, and they are the only ones that I like for this house. Double ones, however, would reduce my object count - to increase rendering speed and reduce lag.

Choosing a lighter wood pattern was a great choice. It now feels kind of like a dollhouse, which in my opinion suits the exterior.

New curtains, can't wait to get some great double or even triple ones. Keeping my fingers crossed for Seasons as well.

I am most definitely planning on adding sims. I keep having funny ideas pop into my head for who I want to create to add to the world. Sadly it's not recommended that sims have complicated relationships, so I may not be able to add some of the story I would like to it - eg, some sims liking/disliking others. Some ideas I've had so far include:

Julia Gillard (obviously lvl 10 politics)
John Howard - enemies with Julia, retired lvl 10 politics

The bananas in Pajamas (today's funny idea - and with the new skin sliders, I think I could make a good likeness!) - they will be the PJ household
Pepper, George, Mummy and Daddy (pig)
yes, I watch way too much kids' tv

Abby Schutto - science career/LE forensic analysist
Gibbs - Law Enforcement
The Gilmore Girls + Luke
A few Storybrook characters - Snow White, Prince Charming, The Evil Queen etc.
La Bouche (the band)
Phil Collins

FLY lady - I can now give her wings!
My simself and family
A couple of people I know - not in looks, but in personality

I think I've had a few more ideas, but I haven't written them all down. They'll come back to me later. At least now I've got these ones written down :D

Your sims ideas sound like fun, though I'm not sure I'd want any of my sims to have Gibbs as my boss (he's kind of scary sometimes).

I've edited the last posts of both Chuckles and Gogo to remove political opinions from them. Please don't discuss your opinions of politicians here. It has the potential to be inflammatory and to upset other members. I hope you all understand. :)

Sorry, it wasn't meant to be inflammatory - just a way of building a story for my sims. I hope I didn't offend. I missed what Gogo said, so I'm sorry if it was contradictory to my own opinion - I accept that everyone has different views on the topic and have no desire to change thier mind/s (nor will I change mine).

Keeping that in mind though, I may not add them after-all. I don't want to ruin my nice world. I don't want to detract from the cosy atmosphere.

Gibbs? Scarey? Nooo... he's a fatherly figure :D
