I finally got around to buildng the gym today. It's one I've just been putting off for a while. This is Zosha's Zone (Zosha is my favourite Pilates TV instructor).

I may yet do a little bit more to the cafeteria area, though it's hard to make it look nice without too many decorations. It looks a little stark, but I think for now I'm quite happy with it. I may also have to remove a few teddies, but they were doing this cute world-peace thing - all different races life-states of teddies holding hands.

I love those big 7s. The modern art is one of the reasons I want to get Showtime.

I just caught up on this thread and I've really enjoyed it.  I've been considering getting into CAW, but have been a little bit overwhelmed by it.  It's been really helpful to read about how you've gone about the process.  Your world is coming along beautifully!  Can't wait to see the finished product.  Thanks for sharing it with us!

Thank you Heather and Andy. I'm taking a little hiatus from Cypress Lakes at the moment, but will continue when I get some more inspiration. I'm trying not to overburden myself with projects this year, and challenges have just started :D Chances are, challenge practice will give me more ideas!

I think this is beautiful, and can't to see it finish! I love what you are doing with the rabbitholes and cliffs. I personally think that the cafeteria is good enough already.

Thank you Swirlgirl :) It's nice even after such a long break to have feedback.

After I built an entry for the Eco-home building contest, I decided that an eco home would really go well in my town. After seeing the other entries, I have decided that my entry didn't have enough 'curb appeal' and I think the materials that I chose to build it from clashed a little too much. But I really liked the floorplan and general idea, so I've improved on it. Presenting:

Evergreen

- Large windows for natural lighting by day
- Gentle night time light from natural beeswax candles
- Companion planted gardens
- A grey water system
- Solar panels
- Refurbished stone and timber
- Compact design
- Raked ceilings and wide eves help keep the house cool in summer.

I love it. Especially in the last picture when you can see out the back.

Thank you Saltpastillen - I think it definitely helps to show off the warmth that I have created in that room.

I got very excited today - I have a master save folder kept on my storage HDD. It contains things like a master library folder, master downloads folder etc etc. Anyways, I found a build that I thought I had probably lost. I think it fits in quite well with the rest of my town, so I've put it in and adjusted the landscaping accordingly - it was built in AP, so the trees and grass were wrong. I also had another build that I started work on when I was getting a bit artistically drained with Cypress Lakes, and that is going in too.

I also decided to consider a major modification to the Capitol Hill. Because (silly me) it sits on the centre of the map, it sits over 4 chunks - not a good idea. I keep getting tears on that lot all over the place. I'm think of demolishing the whole lot, leveling the hill, placing a 64x64 lot, and then building the hill on the lot, rather than the other way around. I don't know how it will look, but it will also mean that I will use the MF City Hall instead, because it fits in better. Provided of course, it registers properly on the camera.

One thing that I didn't account for when I got all excited about the new combined rabbit hole for the cinema/criminal, was the camera - which I had been so careful to make sure of in all steps leading up to that. And of course, it doesn't register. After I put hours or work in photoshop recolouring it, too :( Many of the theatres are a very similar shape, so I'm going to see if I can still use the images I've edited. The LOD map was the hardest to do, but I'll see what I can come up with. It also means that I'm back to plan A of having the Criminal Hideout by the small lake, and placing another lot in for fishing.

How great that you found one of your lost builds. Sometimes putting a house in a new town/setting really helps make it come to life more.

I've been busy the last two days. I guess all I needed was a little bump in the right direction, and I've got the afore mentioned build that I thought I had lost - changed a bit to suit my town; another build that was half done, and now today I have started from scratch on a new build. Here is the shell - I've started on the inside, but it's a loong process choosing patterns and adjusting colours.

Plus the kitchen and dining rooms:

I love it too. It would be very interesting to see an overview of how the town looks so far. I realize you probably feel it's a little early but I'd really love to see it.

Thank you Ladybug and saltpastillen. I might try for an overview of how it is coming along later today. I was starting last night to make myself a list of what I have left to build. Given the increasing lack of space, and that it's possible to buy different mixology drinks from different venues, I've decided to cull the types of clubs in the town. Realistically, what small town has nine bars anyway? Plus, if you count performance venues on top of that... I'm thinking of nixing the big show venue, too. I just can't come up with a build that suits my town. I've played the performance careers now myself, and I don't think it will be an issue. What are everyone's thoughts on that? It will mean that the remaining clubs and bars will be on bigger lots, so less problems with sims fighting for space.

I'm trialling the 64x64 city hall lot after flattening the hill, and have made the hill on the lot. I've put the Supernatural city hall in, and it looks good so far.

I think combining showtime venues/late night bars is a great idea. It also goes well with your idea of creating a small, compact and efficient world to play. As long as you feel confident you can get everything done in the world, it don't think it's going to be any problem.
