"Freezing" Tiberium?
« on: May 31, 2010, 07:05:28 PM »
Is it possible to "freeze" cut Tiberium so it won't change into the large spire shape?  I'm starting a collection of all the stones in raw and every possible cut form, but I don't want to keep replacing the heart-shaped and small spire cuts when they grow.

Have you tried just throwing your Tiberium gems into a chest?  Or into the Family Inventory?  I realize they wouldn't be on display there of course, but at least they wouldn't grow.  Also, Carl's guide mentions that Tiberium gems placed close to one another will not grow.

I'll see if they grow in a display case.  Maybe they'll be close enough to not grow.

Just display your heart cut tiberium on the small transfiguration display.
The tiberium tends to change positions on the case but keeps it from going spire cut and on display for your pleasure. ^^

You could take a photo with the camera and place the picture on display?  :)

do heart cut tiberiums change into spiral cuts? Mine hasn't (yet). I have 1 big spiral cut, 1 mini spiral cut, and 1 heart cut tiberium next to each other in my basement. So the mini won't change into big while they're so close together?

I believe that's correct, pallyndrome.  When I was testing and trying to get the heart shaped Tiberium to transform into the large spire cut, they wouldn't do it if they were sitting right next to each other.  Once I gave them a space between them, they transformed within a couple of days.

I don't particularly want my heart cut to change into spiral cut. Is there an advantage to having spiral cut over heart cut?

The only advantage with the large spiral cut is that the Tiberium is worth more.

A large spire cut Tiberium is worth close to $40,000.  I don't think heart cut comes anywhere close.

Hmmm, maybe one of my heartforms is than an exception on the rule. Or it is just because my sim has cut out so many gems that the next one get more valueble. It would not be the first time that the product of a sims skill will grow in value the more the sims makes them (paintings, books, so why not gems?).

Oh! Well huge prices doesn't appeal to me, because I never sell them. I like to collect them instead. :)

I have uninstalled the game because of some bugs (still got the savegames of course), but when I think of it, I believe it was yet above $40.000. Not much, but still. :)
