Chapter 38Leo and I were walking on cloud nine for quite a few months after the wedding. Things seemed to settle into a normal or somewhat normal routine after that. Pretty soon, it was time for the boys to age up to teenagers. Time for pranks, learning to drive and girlfriends. Not sure if I was ready for all that, but I don't really have a choice. The birthdays were quiet and they didn't invite any friends. It was just the four of us.
Dylan Jr.:
And of course, he had to close his eyes.
Davis: He really looks so much like me, poor kid.
The next morning, before chores had even started, we heard Jersey in the back. We went to see what the matter was and it was time for him to go. He was an old horse and dear friend, the last of my past is leaving.
Then Grim got on Jersey and they were gone.
We all just stood there mourning in our own way, Jersey had been a wonderful pet and family member.
After the boys went to school, I told Leo had something to do. He didn't ask questions and I think he knew what I wanted to do and he knew that I had to do it alone.
I sat and thought of my life up until now. These three headstones are my past. Dylan had Jersey, when I met him, I had Fiona and of course, Dylan and I had each other. Each step in life serves a purpose. If I hadn't been raised by the Tinsdales, I would not have met Dylan. If I had not been looking for my mother, I would not have met Leo. So, I guess, I should be thankful for where I am today and feel blessed that I am where I am in my life.
RIP, Dylan, Fiona and Jersey:Well, it seems like that every life that is taken, another one is made......
Yes, I am pregnant with Leo's baby, I could only hope that it is one baby. I am not sure I have the energy for more than one. Guess we will just have to see what happens.......
