I can't wait! Have you seen the Gameplay trailer! Oh Wowzers! I need this game in my life. Now.  ;D I want Maxis working back on the Sims though, I think they had a charm about them. Although if they've revamped the company it's likely to be different anyway so meh. From the gameplay trailer I'm not sure if I like the fuzzy distance fog thing though, that looks a little odd - I love the look of the placements though!

Edit: The SimsCity Social looks pretty cool as well! I'm liking the page to hopefully be able to play it early - well it says you do, Lol!

Edit 2: Might have to take that back... The Limited Edition is £50 ... The Deluxe Edition is £65 . I was thinking £40 tops for the Limited Edition. Yikes...

So I've heard!

I've always found those simulation games in where you had to build a city quite complicated. Ended up running out of money very soon.
Is this version connected to The Sims 3, like Rush Hour was connected with The Sims?

I played SimCity 4 for hours on end when I was a kid. Still have it on my laptop as it's a really fun, well-made game.

As for this new one, CURVED ROADS FINALLY.

I've never played SimCity before. What's it like? Is it worth the money? :D

It's a game where you run a city. In the latest released incarnation, SimCity 4, this involved zoning for certain types of buildings (residential, commercial, or industrial), placing community and service buildings (schools, police, reward buildings, etc.), laying out transportation systems, directing funds, and of course, disasters. Also had some mini-games with the Rush Hour EP.

I'm one of those people who likes unadulterated political and societal planning, so it's well worth my money.

I used to play simcity 3000, but I could never work out to have a successful city - it nearly always ended up losing money (and the only time it didn't, I was using a cheat).

I played a simcity on the Wii a few years ago  :P My city was so good I HAD to be the one to cause disasters, it was massive!

I'm actually considering getting this, it looks amazing! I've never played SimCity on a PC before, so I'm looking forward to seeing what it is like.

The Limited Edition is £50 ... The Deluxe Edition is £65 . I was thinking £40 tops for the Limited Edition. Yikes...

What's the difference between the two? They are a lot of money.

For us in the UK: I just looked on Play.com and they are listing it for £40 which is £10 less than listed on the SimCity site and about £5 less than Origin. Not the best price still but better than the original!

Played SimCity, still have the disc; but found it boring. Maybe they've changed something to make it better?

Does anyone know if this is going to be available for Mac? I looked but it doesn't appear so. Which I thought was strange since the Macs are getting so popular lately. I can't seem to find the older ones for Mac without paying an arm and a leg. I've never played them but I'm very interested in them!

*cries* Oh, I hope that's not the case. :( The original SimCity was my gateway into the series and got me hooked onto other simulation games, which eventually led to me having fond memories of temporarily exchanging my copy of SimCity 3000 with my roommate for The Sims once upon a time (actually it was my roommate's son but he was staying with his mom at the time, he was maybe a couple of years younger than me). Those memories are what led me to buy The Sims 3 last year.

I still have SimCity 3000 floating around somewhere but sadly it's for a PC and I have a Mac laptop. I looked into getting the last version of SimCity but besides the fact there didn't appear to be a version for the Mac, the main emphasis wasn't quite what I was looking for.  The trailer for the new one looks promising, assuming I can play it.
