Error upon starting Create A World

Just to be sure, you better reinstall the whole Create a World tool BEFORE you will get that patch.
Sure it does help you getting rid of that problem that makes CAW not starting up anymore, but mine didn't start up after installing the patch. So back up your files, uninstall Create a World, install Create a World and then install the patch. After that, put your files back to where they belong and your game will start up again.

I'm just scared it would risk my newly-reinstalled game. Because if it does I'm done with EA and all Sims-related for a good time, lol. Just finished the odyssey against my launcher last night, I'm not willing to go back to it.

I'm kind of traumatized lol.

I can't run CAW either. I get a different error: "the sims 3 game data was not found". I've downloaded the latest version a few times, uninstalled and reinstalled several times, etc. I still get the same error. I tried installing it on my E drive (where I installed the Sims3 and EPs) and my C drive where the install wizard tries to install it every time. Others seem to still be experiencing my problem as well as Danny's problem even after the most recent version of CAW. However, CAW is now working for some people who had problems before. CAW is beta so presumably they are still working on it and problems are to be expected.

@winnow:  Do you have the most recent patch from EA?  That was supposed to fix the problem with Create A World.

Pam, I'm pretty sure that I do. I've downloaded it a few times and uninstalled/reinstalled a few times now (since doing that seemed to work for some people on the EA forum). I don't think I ever tried the earlier version since I just downloaded CAW a couple of days ago.

@winnow:  I don't know of anything that will fix it for you.  I suggest that you contact EA Customer Service about the issue.  I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
