Ah so the US Keyboards are different to the UK. All I know is that that works for my Keyboard so maybe the US keyboards might have a Hot Key as well?

My keyboard is just like Pam's. What's a 'Hot Key'?

Keyboard Shortcuts, such as 'C, V, F1, F..., Delete' etc. so that you don't have to use the buttons provided in game for the action you want.

Never mind, I just googled it and found out. Thanks  :)

Thank you all for the welcome.

Ausette I did download your Painting Experiment that much have taken you ages to do, I didn't think to have the sim start and stop the paintings when I was sorting my gallery out so I must have missed no end of the basic ones. Nice to see all that artwork on your lot. My gallery is here http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=3808664 and it is cc free.

I think the Neurotic trait has to be my least favourite for painting so far, although there pictures are nearly always lovely and bright they never fit the decor of my houses very well. lol. It's a shame too that pictures painted from memory and still life pictures can't be moved up and down the walls, the sketch of the man next to his legs looks rather funny.  ;D

I will have to try for some red and blue paintings as suggested so I can try to match paintings with decor for future builds.  ;)

Huh, that's odd, I can usually get it to work. Try using moveobjects on. If you have furniture, lights, windows or other paintings nearby they can block it from moving. It has to be a painting from an easel, too. Sadly I can't move sketches up and down at all  :(.

EDIT: It's a real shame sketches can't be moved up and down walls. I'd really like to. And so would this guy:

@Ausette  I'm laughing, and everyone in the house is laughing too!  Poor guy, can he be healed with "move objects"?  It looks like a magic act has gone horribly wrong.

@Ausette

Poor guy. I think he needs corrective surgery or something like that. Maybe you should call a doctor.

That is another one of my favorites.  I had been waiting for my sim to paint that one and then when they did, it was the blurry one.  I felt cheated, lol.  I finally got one, but it took, what seemed like forever.  I have not gotten one like it since.  Another one is that one towards the beginning of this thread with the couple standing on the the bridge and the woman is in a red dress.  I have never gotten that one again and it is such a gorgeous picture.  Oh well. :)

Been a long time since I've read the ol "Picutres Sims Have Painted" board, wow!

Ausette!  What an amazing little experiment you've conducted!  And told with such creativity to boot!  It was amazing to see the results and I'm so glad you took the time to try to create every painting possible.  Kudos to you, my dear!  You deserve them!

N'aaaaw, thanks!  ;D
For the record, after I got Ambitions I tried it again, but with fashion sketches. It's not finished, but I learnt three things:
1 - The types of sketches you can do are affected by Stylist level, not painting.
2 - The sketches are really hard to tell apart when they're just little swatches. Sometimes you get three different sketches of the same outfits but at different angles.
3 - Sofia Carlton takes to living in a camper trailer quite well. Heh.  :)

My sims paints every day, all day and she was 98 when she painted this. I hadn't seen it before. So it did take quite a long time!

@Alexandria- My sims paint that one a lot! I often have the blurry one and the clear one hanging along side each other. One of the immortals in my dynasty is a painter, so I'll be interested which paintings she does over the next 6 generations.

I had not seen this large boat painting until my sim painted it earlier. It's very simple but I really like it. The small one was a still life painting btw.
