I guess because Agnes has the grumpy trait, most of the same pictures that most other sims paint normal, she paints with dark blues and red.  They are all most all masterpieces, but they just look so much darker.

I like using the first pics that sims paint also, especially in kids rooms.  They are really nice to decorate with.

I tried this before, so going to try to add a picture of a painting my sim painted.  I have never had any other sim paint like this lady.  I know traits play a role in what a sim paints, but I have had others with the almost the same trait and the extra creative skill also, so I am going to try to post this pic.

Does anyone know if I can add my own pictures and have them paint those as well? We used to be able to do that in Sims 2.

I'm fairly sure the painting this guy has just painted is under the effect of some trait or mood, he's a level three painter by the way, or was when he painted this.

I've been selling most of his pictures, but this one I'm keeping, even if it is low value, I just think it's pretty I called it 'The Eternal Pi'

I'm pretty sure we can't make them paint pics things that we add. It was a cool feature, but there are so many different paintings in TS3 that I don't really miss it.

These paintings are all new to me, except for one.

Who is this cranky old guy? Looks like a noir P.I. to me.

My all-time favorite kid painting. This was his first!

This one's pretty.

I love, love, love this one. I hope she paints it again, because I had to sell it to advance her career.

I have never seen any of those.  I tend not to play painters to much, but I have done a fair share of painting.  I also like the fire lady one, it is awesome.

I have had my sim paint the second one, only it wasn't blurry.  Actually, I think someone even posted it long before I did and I just forgot, anyway, it is a cool painting and I named it Catching a Wave, real original huh, lol.  I like them to do sketches too, but if they are not in a profession to use the table, I just don't use it.

Here are a few that my 5th generation level 10 Sim painted:

And why she did this one after the others I can't figure out. ;D

MTG lady, I love the first one. It's so cute.

Thanks.  That is the only time I have seen that picture.  None of my other painters have painted it.

My painter has painted the same thing twice in a row, in the same style. She does the Artistic 'lack of detail' style sometimes, but she does the basic version too. There's one painting she's done (and only the one time, so I wish I'd taken a pic before I sold it) of an autumnal sort of scene with just trees. I haven't seen it here. I think they definitely added new paintings Sim artists could create with Ambitions, because I've played painters before and never saw some of the ones I see now. The ducks, the red bird flying, the surfer (haven't had any painter of mine create that one yet), the smiling stick figure in a box (another she hasn't done), the scene looking down on what I assume is SV, the lighthouse; well, I could go on, but I won't.  ;)  Glad I'm not the only one who has a painter that does what I believe, um. Swede (?) interpreted as a flower in a blackish jungle. I did think it looked like a flower, but the rest of it being so dark had me wondering.

I also like the 'tributes' to the various artists, even if after seeing the Sim version of 'The Girl with the Pearl Earring' five or six times I was hard-pressed to think of what to name it. I think the last time I used,  "Look Over There" as a title.   :D  I need to visit the museum and see if any of her work has turned up there. Somewhere I saw there's supposed to be a 20% chance of that happening. Two more of the paintings posted appear to be inspired by known artists. One is a small painting that looks suspiciously like the work of Jackson Pollack, despite the size of the canvas. The other one is difficult to describe and I can't think of the artist's name besides.

If I wasn't in the the last third of a Challenge, I would try some exploration of what you can get out of the Drafting table. It's been neat seeing what others have discovered using it.

Well, enough of my rambling. Just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying this thread and thank all of those who are posting their Sims' artwork!

Just saw this topic, I haven't read the whole thing yet but it looks pretty cool! I love the paintings on The Sims 3, I have entire households full of Artistic sims who do nothing but pump out artworks for me   :).

This one would have to be my favourite, though. Still life. I think it was painted in China on one of the easels I plonked down in the Martial Arts academy.

Meet Candii  ;D. She's almost as awesome as the painting makes her look.

Thanks, I've been thinking of joining for a while  ;D. I'm a bit of a Sims 3 nut to be honest. Can't wait to get Ambitions, I'm really looking forward to all the new sketches and sculptures.
