I usually hang them, unless I have a self employed painter.  Sometimes I'll have a Sim who paints the same design over and over again, like the Large painting with the unhappy stick figure guy, and then I'll seen the duplicates.  Or occasionally I'll get one that I simply don't like, then I sell it.

Sometimes I'll have an elder take up painting just because once they pass on their paintings are worth more.  It's a good retirement hobby in that regard.
That is so true! I'm not at home right now so I can't check exactly how much but I got over $1500 profit once when an artist died!
EDIT: I just looked up the thread where I posted it and here's what I got.

EDIT: SWEET! I wasn't sure how much more, so I had my female do it (cause my man has a ton of stuff consigned and I didn't want to cancel) and I got $1824 in profit! Yeehaw!

(I checked the top post and didn't see a limit on pics. I hope I haven't gone over.)

I've been power-leveling Amy Bull in Painting, and I'm seeing some that I don't remember seeing in this thread:

This one is either Croissant With Fig Newtons, or else Nuclear Reactor.

Just blobs?

This is my favorite. Meteors maybe?

While she was at the store buying a rubber ducky, she took a fishing class. Now she keeps painting the same blowfish over and over, hehe.

I have both World Adventures and the Ambitions expansions.  Here's what my sim did on the drafting table while doing the "Research Architectural Design" interaction.

And something I've noticed with that interaction is sometimes they'll do the full sketch, sometimes they'll focus on just one part of it, like this pair of pictures here.  As you can see, the picture on the right is a zoomed in section of the one on the left.

I've not tried the research Architectural Design, but those pictures are awesome!   Must go do that right away!  Thanks for showing!

I've noticed that the consignment shop has a drafting table that you can use if you don't want to buy one.

I saw that too, sometimes pinch other peoples work when I'm in there selling my stuff  ;D

But it just so happens I have a table, since I was researching fashion (love the fashion pictures!)

I love this shot. It's Amy Bull Painter in TommyT's Modern Beach house. I added the red-orange touches to the decor, for Amy's sake.

'Gratz on 500 messages, MamaLlama.  :)

I'm loving that picture too. I need to find out who "Amy Bull Painter" is now and ask her why she dresses like that ...

Thanks, Solstice. Yep, I love Amy's garish clothing and wanted to lift her out of obscurity so she could shock the Sunset Valley residents. Every one of her outfits is fabulous (the one pictured is her athletic one complete with animal hat). I recently took her to Egypt and had to invent an Egyptian outfit suitable to her tastes. Much fun!

@ Happytime: I think it's embarrassing to have so many posts. I hadn't noticed!

Now that would be cool! I have the problem I keep having to add walls lol.
I think I read that your'e going to be able to put the painting higher and lower on the walls in the Late Night expansion pack.

I hope we can place two on the same section of wall, that really small picture with the white frames looks ridiculous!
