That's actually from the Animals Abound set from the Sims 3 Store!

I have that set, but don't have a desk and chair.  It's just stuff for the nursery like cribs, dresser, toy box, etc.

My Sims latest endeavor.  Mom and Dad, (legacy founders), are aging up so it was time for a family portrait.

WHOA!  I just learned you can edit/photoshop pics within the Sims3 Screenshot file!

Here is a pic I don't think I have seen before.  I have a sim that keeps painting the same pic over and over again.  I keep having to change the pic size.

I've seen that one in the game ages ago. One of my sims painted it. It's a nice picture though.

I'm new here, so hi everyone. :P I know a few of the paintings people have shown here are indeed famous paintings. The one posted towards the beginning of the topic, where Saltypaws said the painting looked like his grand daughter, was based on  'Girl with a Pearl Earring' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girl_with_a_Pearl_Earring).

Leftcoaster also posted one, which is a painting called 'The Birth of Venus' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Birth_of_Venus_%28Botticelli%29 ) -Warning you though, it shows some nudity.

The final one I recognized was also posted by Leftcoaster, which is 'A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Sunday_Afternoon_on_the_Island_of_La_Grande_Jatte).

I saw you guys recognized the Van Gogh piece, but I didn't  :-[- I just thought it was based on the style of 'Starry Night'. These are all very beautiful paintings, and I hope my painter Sim does the Ninja one-It's my favorite so far.

I was wondering, though, if we could post pictures from the drawing board our Sims have done. I read on a wiki that some of the drawings done of people are famous people from the Sims universe, and one of my artistic Sims drew this woman and man when I wasn't looking- He's a older fellow, with round cheeks, and a suit on-Sort of reminds me of the Moneybags character from the GBA Sims I played. The woman looks a lot like picture of Marlyn Monroe that I've seen, but she's got a maniac sort of grin going on. I'll see if I can get a screen shot of it.

Welcome to our Forum, Tolling Bells!

Thanks for sharing the information about those paintings.  A lot of us had no idea that the paintings by our Sims were actual famous paintings.  That's pretty awesome.

And yes, it's fine to post sketches from the drafting table.  :)

Thanks Pam.  :D Okay, here's the happy couple-Sorry if it's a little pixelated, my game's on a lower graphic setting.

Anyone know who they are?

Wow, I know I have not seen that one before.  My sims have painted alot of paintings, but nothing like that one.  Not sure who they are though.  I like the ninja one too.  I have that one in quite a few homes.

Oh, I also forgot to mention- The different styles the Sims use? They seem to be tools from certain photo manipulators. I know the program I have can do the block patterns that Computer Whiz Sims can do, and the big blocky pixels that ruin the image. I've seen the neon tool used on a older version of Photoshop. There's also a way to add a small hue of color with a big paintbrush that's 'softened' with Photoshop, so that's possibly how EA dose Virtuoso, Evil, and Good's painting edits.

Saltypaws, that's actually what my Sim did on a Drawing Board.  ;D When you click on one, there's three options, which are 'Practice Painting', 'Draw Architecture', and 'Draw Style'. My Sim probably did style, but as I said, she did it when I wasn't looking. All the Architecture and Style drawing I've seen have always been pencil drawn people and buildings, and they never look poor quality, which makes them good for decorating the house. :D

Also, sorry about the size of the image. Guess I better go read up on Carl's guide.  :-[

The size of your image is fine.  When using an outside photo hosting service, we like for the images to be resized to 640 x 480.  Same for the in-house image hosting, actually, but for some reason it will only post a thumbnail of the image and you have to click on it to see the full size.  Either way is fine for the Forum.
