THAT ONE! Sorry for the uppercase but I have been searching for that yellow small one forever (pallyndrome's 3rd up from the bottom furthest to the left)! One of my Sims made it so, so long ago... however, I accidentally saved over that game... That was my absolute favorite painting done by the Sims, and none of my Sims have been able to replicate it, nor did I know the traits of the Sim who had originally painted it!

yes i like that gold painting too. i've designed a lovely bathroom around it. i'll see if i can find out which sim made it - though not sure if i can remember their traits seeing as they're dead... but i have the tombstone? maybe i can bring them back to life to find out? but right now i'm doing baby boomer challenge :)
anyway, i often like the little paintings, they're such nice little things :)

I've gotten that yellow/gold one before, too.  A few times, in fact.  I don't think traits determine which paintings they do.  Traits influence the style of the painting, but not the subject of the painting.  If anyone knows for sure that it's otherwise, please speak up.

Pallyndrome, if that painter was part of your family, he/she would be in your family tree even if deceased and you can get traits from there.

I have that one too, the traits for mine were, charismatic, good sense of humor, green thumb, brave and adventerous.  The one that looks like a cartoon character is pretty neat too. I believe your right Pam, about the style that is.  Traits play a part on the style of painting, but not so much on what they paint.  Although, I have had the same sim paint one picture perfect and the next time, paint the same painting that is all blurred, but still worth a fortune.

I wonder: Do the sims make paintings of things they think about? E.g: A sim makes a very sad painting because his wife died one day ago. Or a sim who has been cursed by a mummy paints mummies and pyramids?

I am not sure if this was random or not, but after his grandfather died, a sim painted a picture of a headstone, which I thought was really different, will find it and post it, he didn't have very many painting skills.

The first one is of the gravestone I was talking about in the earlier post.  The next two are the same painting by the same sim.  The last one is just some random pics.  I like the kitten on the books one.   Never mind, I didn't post the one with the kitty, I got confused, lol

Saltypaws I couldn't really make out two of the top pictures, they were too dark.

How do they get the pics bigger.  I guess I should try photobucket, I used the size they reccomend on here.  Like I said, the top one is the gravestone my sim painted after his grandpa died.  Darn, I forgot to set my flash, lol.

I have the grave stone painting too, but I didn't work out that it was a gravestone until you said it! I thought it was just a pale, pretty picture. I have another bathroom designed around that, lol.

Like I said, not sure if he would have painted that one anyway or it was something in their heads when someone dies.  I guess we would like to think our sims think that way, but I guess it was probably random.  Oh well, in any case, we can think what we want, it is our sims, lol.

Yes I do believe going back a few pages on the Sim Wiki- Painting, it says that moods do affect the painting.

Our in-house image hosting changes every image to a thumbnail, then you can see the full size when you click on it.  However, using Photobucket also allows you to resize to 640 x 480 and will show that full size in your post.
