I haven't lost any serious amounts of money yet, but I could only play with the casino for just over a sim day because my game crashed. I was wondering whether the lucky and unlucky traits could have an effect on the winnings, but I never got a chance to try it out.
 
The crash had nothing to do with the casino, my game has been playing up recently. I'm off to do a complete uninstall/reinstall, as I'm well overdue for one.

If it works like a real casino, you'll lose whatever you wager.  If you keep wagering and losing, it adds up.

I was wondering what the desert was as well! Unless they made it specially for this picture opportunity. I'd like a desert world though.

From the pictures I've seen I thought the sand looked more like the sand from WA and stuff, although they could have done it in Egypt I suppose but I don't know. Well it looked like the Sand from CAW.

It's definitely beachy sand versus Lunar Lakes.  Lunar Lakes doesn't actually look like sand in high end photos.  It's more rock/stone patterned like you see in the picture below.  Click to enlarge it.

The casino looks awesome and it's definitely going on my must have/wishlist, but ouch... even the sale price of 1600 is steep, so I'll have to be a bit patient on this one.  I love the blackjack table and slot machine though.

Always wondered about the hidden gambling trait. So now to see if Twallan's mobster mod can get in on the action! After all, most casinos are run by mobsters.
Personally I found going to a casino to be boring and too much noise! I much preferred going to the horse races and betting. Love watching those horses run.
