Sims 3 Launcher screen is blank

When I turned on my computer this morning my Game Launcher "Welcome" screen was empty. The downloads, updates, etc. are all working correctly. Has this happened to you before? I've shut down and restarted my computer but it didn't help.

This happened to me recently after a content patch or two ago.  If I remember correctly, it eventually will fix itself.

But that also means you can't play the game?

No, I can play the game. The play arrow is there. Just the right side is blank.

There's a game update to 1.34. I updated hoping that would fix it...but not. Of course, my mods will have to be updated before I can use them now. I know Twallen updates often so it shouldn't be long.

I read somewhere that clearing your cache files from your browsers may help so Internet Explorer, Chrome and/or Firefox.  One of them might trigger it.  I know that Sims likes Internet Explorer so maybe try that one first.

I think you're right. I've been having trouble with Internet Explorer. I tried to repair it but I haven't been able to. I can't reinstall it because it's included in the Windows operating system. I was on the phone with Microsoft for hours trying to get it resolved. They couldn't fix it either. I wonder what would happen if I try to install the Beta IE 10.

I figured out how to uninstall IE 9. Computer is back to 8 now. Still a blank window. Tomorrow I will try to reinstall 9. Then, Katy Perry. I got notice it is ready for download

FIXED! It now works after reinstalling IE 9. Now to bed. It's after 1:00 a.m. here.

I had this same problem.

** Even if you don't use IE (Internet Explorer), make sure Java Flash Player is updated [Uninstall old versions FIRST before installing to the latest version]. **

My solution: Control Panel > Network and Internet > Internet Options > Programs tab > "Manage add-ons"
Check to see if "Java(tm) Plug-In SSV Helper" and "Java(tm) Plug-In 2 SSV Helper" are ENABLED.
