Haha! No kidding. I thought it was the pond at first because it has lily pads, but it's definitely got the straight edges of a pool. And pool lights.

Anyone else having problems with collectables? I have the quest to get palladium but nothing showed up on the map like it usually does for a quest objective so I bought the collection helper and set it to rocks and gems and there's nothing there at all. I've had no luck mining it up (got plutonium, platinum, mummitomium, copper, iridium but no palladium) and the gems I got from mining don't count towards 'gem collector' so I can't get the heart shaped cut.

I've noticed this too.  I have my inventor collect the gems/metal from my sculptor (sometimes when they are sculpting stone, they find a gem or metal inside).  The palladium, though, will show up on your map, it's just rare so it might take a couple cycles.  You don't need the collection helper, just keep checking your map every once in a while.  Also, check the consignment shop, sometimes they have rare collectibles.

I really like some of the artist homes that the premade households live in, but can't find them listed in the library of homes I can place on lots for my own sim. I see that I can save the artist's house + household to the library, but how do I save the house to the library so my sim can live in one too?

I found the problem - they don't highlight when you're in the 'jobs and opportunities' category - they only show up in 'all' and 'community lots'.

How exactly does the consignment shop work? I've been in it twice to sell some inventions, but I don't see an obvious way to do it. One time there was no clerk and the register was grayed out, and the next time there was someone there. I put the items on the counter by the register, but I don't know if that's the right thing to do. This is probably something so obvious, but I'm just hitting a wall with it.

You "buy", then you'll see a "consignment" tab next to the list of things for sale. Just like selling at the grocery store. Also, my store clerk only works 9-5.

Do you happen to know the answer to my question? I'd appreciate knowing how to duplicate a premade sim's home for my own sim's use when it's not in the library of available houses.

The consignment shop works sort of like a shop in WA. I went there late at night, and it was greyed out, so I went back the next morning, figuring it had normal working hours, and the shop owner was there. You can click either him, or the cash register, and choose buy. Then in the info that comes up, press the sell tab (or something like that) and it's like selling stuff at the grocery store, but you don't get the money straight away. You get money later when it sells. But watch out - I find that sometimes what you sell at the consignment shop doesn't count towards money experience with self-employment. I found that with nectar, and I think someone else had that problem with something else too.

So far my sales at the consignment shop do count toward money experience, and my sim is level 8 sculpting. I've found that the climb from empty to full experience bar is very slow to be apparent.

You'd have to evict the family from the house in order to put just the house in the library.  It won't go by itself if someone is living in it.

I can't find any Households there that I like! Let alone marry into the family! So Now I am making a Sculpter who is rich and am making her a small mansion (if that's possible!  :) )

Some of these people in Twinbrook are not made for breeding purposes.  I hope when the town starts repopulating, better looking sims move in or I will make all new sims myself, lol

I don't think my Sim would touch many of the men there with a 10ft stick!  ;D

Funny, I was thinking the same thing, might be a good town to totally repopulate anyway. I mean I know that all people are not the same anyway and I would never be cruel to anyone, but they did not put much effort in these sims, maybe it was done that way for us to start using our imagination, anyway, no big deal, that is why we have makeove stations. lol

That's also why I'm afraid for my pretty sim to get a makeover in Twinbrook!
