I think it's just when they get mad enough, and the action "kill" comes up.

No, that absolutely never happens in normal game play.  Sim's simply don't kill each other and let's not start any rumors, please.  It's a good rule of thumb to only post what you know to be true from your own experience, or at the least, provide a link to back up something like that.

@War2098: as you've put a bunch of pictures about how sims could die in your topic I am wondering if your first picture, the 'brawl interaction' one is also a way a sim can die.
I mean: as far as I know vampires can't kill sims, but your picture made me doubt. Am I right?

Sims don't die from brawling, even if it's with a vampire.  A brawl is just a bar fight.  That picture really doesn't belong on this thread.

I am totally opposed to killing Sims. Other people can be mean to their Simmies if they really want, but for me the game is meant to be realistic. You can't build walls around people swimming to drown them in real life, so why would you want to on The Sims? I may give my Sims weird hair, clothes, names etc, but that's as unrealistic as it gets. Killing them just crosses the line for me.

Sorry Pam! I just read this Sims killing each other thing somewhere, and was wondering if it was true.  I really agree with Sophie on this one

Sorry Pam!

No worries, Aqua.  I just wanted to nip that one in the bud.

Well, that's an interesting expression I haven't heard of yet. I assume it means something like: bringing it down immediately?

Yes, exactly.  It's like a flower that hasn't bloomed yet.  It's still a bud and you nip it before it blooms.  Nip it in the bud.  :)

I'm presently running in my game a scenario on "Fatal Attraction"; because my female sim's husband broke up with her (autonomously due to a mod) for someone else. Since my female sim has powers (she's a genie and knows spells for summoning people) she summoned his new paramour and killed her with poison. Her husband had made her miserable by leaving her, so she's going to make him miserable. She also bought his place of business and fired him. I like seeing him with his moodlet in the red after she got publicly disgraced for divorce, was pregnant and had a 3 day heart broken moodlet.
Never underestimate a woman scorned.

I have killed a couple of sims on purpose before. But that was only because I forgot how to kick people out and I wanted to focus on one sim and her evil babies. xD I just dragged their hunger bar down all the way. I've also deleted a sim because she was a paparazzi and super annoying, if that counts as killing her.

I've also had an insane sim trap other sims (namely VJ and Miraj Alvi [her babies' daddies] and Lisa Bunch) in her basement for story purposes.

(That's Lisa sleeping in the background, I love how creepy my sim looks)

Though the basement did have everything they needed, I think because they weren't technically invited over any more, they couldn't sleep for long or eat much of anything before putting it on the floor. So eventually VJ died even though Lisa had been locked up for longer. Miraj and Lisa are still alive and I might let them out since I'm now playing my crazy sim's latchkey kid who's in a relationship with one of the aforementioned evil babies (now the emperor of evil, in fact) all grown up. xD Ah, the stories of Sunset Valley.

So, if they aren't a sim I'm attached too, I don't really mind killing them. Just not with fire. I had one of the sims I liked catch fire while inventing (I didn't know jumping in the shower would work), and jeez, the screaming sure isn't cartoon-ish. I haven't played that file since. : (  So I completely understand not being able to/being against killing sims.

Wow, your Sim is crazy, but pretty.  I've never thought about locking Sims up before.  Then again, I've never played with an insane Sim, except for a little Dorie Hart time...

On the Sims 1, I used to love the Goth graveyard and wanted more ghosts so I lured the neighbors to their place, locked them into a small room with a chair and fireplace then had the captured Sim light the fire until the chair caught up in flames and the sim burned to death. Sort of a do it yourself creamation :o

Sims 2, I wanted all the ghost colors so some of the townies I didn't like were part of my experiments.

Sims 3, All deaths have been accidental. Worse I've done is age transition a few that have lived way past their natural lifetime.

Long story short, I have no issue with killing Sims for story purposes.

@Ztoast: I don't know what it is, but your picture looks very realistic. It is that I know it's from The Sims 3 because it looks pretty real.

Edit: Welcome to the forum, as I think I haven't seen you before. :)

@ Leto85, thanks for the welcome. I've recently decided to de-lurk : )

I shall pass on your guys' compliment to my computer. xD I have my graphic setting pretty high. It lags my game sometimes and makes my comp sound like a dying vacuum sometimes, but...it's soo pretty lol.

ETA: Gah, the paparazzi are really getting on my nerves. I've taken to aging them up whenever they come to bother my sims. Hey, guys, maybe instead of taking pictures of my very pregnant sim painting, you write an article about the apparently cursed lot that ages you fifty years in three seconds until you die of old age, hmmm? Sheesh, sims and their priorities. xD It's also a nice way to get lifetime happiness points since my sims get a want to resurrect them right afterwards for 10,000 points.

In Sims 2 my cousin couldn't afford a pool ladder for his Sim and didn't know that they die without a ladder. He left for a few minutes (forgetting to pause) and he comes back and Grim shows up. So what does he do? SELLS THE GRAVE TO BUY A LADDER!

Now THAT'S funny!!

First sim I killed was to see if I could do it, and I drowned her (The Sims 1).  It was horrifyingly exciting, to say the least.  I was so disturbed, I almost cried, but I wanted to see how else I could wipe out my town.  The next sim died in a fire, and the screams were so horrible, I decided against the rest of the killing spree (well, that and I could never get them to die by flies, no matter how hard I tried).

The last sim I killed was my sister's ex-boyfriend who completely dishonored her.  That was The Sims 2, and I honestly don't remember how I did it.  I just remember taking pictures of his ghost and sending them to her.  She didn't like that one bit.  So I stopped killing sims.

Nowadays I just play with the aging off and if I get bored with a family/sim, I just move right along and let story progression handle the rest.
