Well I started a new game in Barnacle Bay and had Nina adopt a toddler, put walls up to stop them getting out of the kitchen and had Nina start cooking. A fire ensued and nobody died.

This is the fire starting. You can see the area when the toddler is sitting at the far left of the screen. This area of floor never even got dirty it was as if there was an area around the toddler that the fire would not touch.

In the second shot you can Nina in the right corner. Maybe I didn't make the room small enough,I have never started a Sim fire on purpose before. The thing is nobody called the fire service and the fire just stopped all by itself. Is that supposed to happen.
So I am not sure that my experiment proved anything except Nina Caliente surprisingly hard to kill.

I used to kill sims to see the color of the ghost when I first started playing.  At first, I didn't even know they could die.  So then about every game I played I would kill off the sim, usually in water because I thought the blue ghost was cool.  Also, I used to kill the sims because I like hearing the grim reaper music and seeing the ghost.  I don't do that anymore now.  In fact, now the ghosts kind of creep me out by the way they float.  But if I get mad enough...yeah, you get the picture.  But I usually don't kill sims unless I'm really mad at them, anoyed with them, or just want to add a little drama.  Though I would like to see my first meteor strike and what the ghost looks like, I still don't try to kill them by meteor though, if my sims are going to be killed it is usually going to be by accident or old age.
Edit:ok, so maybe I HAVE been trying to get my sim killed by a meteor.

I don't kill mine, and in fact I have them drink the stop aging potion and have them carry deathflowers.  But I don't see anything wrong with anyone killing a sim, of any age, for any reason.  This is just a game, and the sims are just pixals and code.  While I really enjoy playing the games, I really don't think of the sims as being real people.

I love this topic. Yes, I kill sims sometimes. And no I don't feel bad when I do. It is a stress relief to do it. If I have a bad day, they better watch out. But I never kill sims I'm attached to or I've worked on their skills and jobs. In my dynasty, the only way they die is old age and even that bothers me.

Thanks, Esther!  My topic appreciates your compliment. :D I really want to start a dynasty soon, I just need to look into what challenge I want to do.  I might start out simple, since it's my first one.  :)

You and your topic are welcome!  :D Yes, they are fun but challenging. I'm on my 5th try lol.

On-topic, I have seen babies die of drowning, starving, electrocution and fire. And no, I've never ever done that. But if you over populate a town, story progression will kill babies.

Story progression is so frustrating at times!  But that's good (or should I say bad) to know.  How did the nooboo's even get into the water?  Those are some very neglective parents!  I'm so surprised about how popular this post has become!  ;D

Yes it can be. I have no idea how it happens. I just know I read it in the paper, get the pop-ups and sometimes if I knew the baby, I can go to the mausoleum and get the graves. One time I had a graveyard and went there and 3 baby ghosts were lying there all entwined. I posted a pic when it happened, but now I can't remember which topic it was lol.

I actually found it! Here is the post and picture of it, it's kinda freaky lol.

CRAZY!  I guess they don't even move around as ghosts or haunt anything, since live babies can't move.  It is kinda freaky, maybe you can resurrect them.  Sorry, I've been on a resurrecting spree.  Some of my "clients" include Erik Darling and the entire Goth graveyard.  Erik and Agnes are married, and the Goth-Crumplebottoms live nearby.  Those little graves make me so sad!  :'(

I was going to make a graveyard and I purposely killed some sims for that.  I made a evil family, and average family.  I abandoned that project fairly quickly, and now I think I'll make a cemetery with all my future sims that die natually.  I usually don't play a game long enough for sims to die, but I'm trying to change that.

Generally, when a baby dies of whatever accident, it's something that's reported in the papers.  It's not something you'll actually see happen.

I once had a Sim die because someone kept splashing her in the pool.  It wasn't the fun kind of splashing.  No, it was the kind of forceful splashing.  After about 3 of those, my Sim drowned.  I really freaked out.  I didn't want that to happen!  It was awful.

That's awful, Pam. I'm sorry for your loss.  I had a Sim die by fire once and I was horrified. I guess I'm a big softie, I can't kill them on purpose. I just changed my Gold Digger's LTW last night, because I knew I couldn't go through with it. Not that I am against other people doing it; it's just the way I am personally.

Wow, Pam, I'm so sorry!  I was never really comfortable with the whole splashing and holding breath contests.  I agree with you 100%, sharpsiren.

I've only ever had a sim die through old age, hunger, electrocution or the mummies curse!

"Goes off to test drowning"  :P Nah, I wont really!  ;)
