I'm pretty sure they can, but warning: don't try this at home!  Did your daughter save after the tragedy?

Second time this guy comes with an interesting topic. Keep doing this Aqua and I have to add your stuff to my bookmark list. ;)

If I tell you that I like to play Skyrim the pacifistic way I don't think I have to explain in detail how I do this with sims.
I won't get emotionally involved with them either, or however you call that in English, as I just simply don't. But killing them on purpose.... Yeah, I've done that in the past when I was a kid you know. But now I don't do that stuff anymore. It's kinda cruel in my opinion and it said something about the person who do it. Aside from that: I actually play games now as how I would act in real life.
If I don't like a sim, or get bored with it I would simply set it out of the family and simply delete it. But killing on purpose? Naa, not my style.

No she did not save as the pop up came up that says something along the lines of whoops you don't have anymore playable Sims in this game why don't you try another family.  Of course it wasn't exactly that but you get the idea.

Aww, thanks Leto.  And PS I'm a girl heehee.   :o  I really appreciate everyone who reads my posts.  The killing isn't my style either.  I'll work on some new topics for you all.  I've never had an entire family go at once, ratchie, but I would be distraught if I had to "try another family".  Send your daughter my condolences.  I had a glitch that drove me nuts for several months (it's in my post: Weird Baby Glitch Fix: http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php?topic=10845.0 )  As you can see in the post, the glitch messed up my nooboos (if someone messes up the nooboos, I will attack). So you can see how I sympathize with her there.  I'll try to get some pictures of Agnes Crumplebottom-Darling's new nooboo (who is FINALLY normal after the bug) soon.  She's a cutie pie!

I'm a girl too! Hehe! I've done it all from TS2 to TS3. I've actually gotten so bored with Sunset Valley, I've resorted to killing. But it's so much harder in Sims 3. In Sims 2 it was so easy. My favorite ways of killing a Sim are the cowplant (I am so happy to have her back in TS3!) and trapping a Sim in the pool and removing the pool ladder. I'm so disappointed that Sims are smarter now.

How is TS2?  I've never played myself, but saw it once at my friend's house a long time ago.

I don't think it's heartless at all to kill Sims, it's not like your killing humans who can never live again. There are several ways to bring them back from the dead, so it's OK to kill them. I have a Sim who can make ghosts and Ambrosia, so she can bring Sims who have died by my own hand or by the game's hand.

For me, killing a Sim intentionally isn't an option.  I don't feel it's part of the normal game play because you have to exit Live Mode to make it happen.  I mean like building walls around a pool or trapping a Sim in a fire.  That's why it's not allowed in our challenges.  Plus, there's the ethics issue of this being a family friendly Forum.  Hosting challenges that kill Sims isn't quite the thing.

I'll work on some new topics for you all.

You're welcome to start new topics, just be sure they are relevant and of substance.  Don't start a topic just for the sake of starting a topic.  That tends to produce frivolous topics and posts, which is against our rules.  It has to be relevant to be posted.

I'll make sure to keep my topics both of substance and appropriate.  Would you rather I not mention killing Sims and such?  You can delete the topic it if you would rather.  I totally agree with you on this one, Pam.

I do it when they're going to die anyway [IE: Their age bar is full], UNLESS its a pet. I can't do it to them for some reason.

You are.... oh, my appologies. :) I couldn't make that up out of your nickname.

But anyway, I personally hope this topic will not be deleted. It's an interesting subject to debat really: to kill, or not to kill a sim. That's... the question.

Oh, that's okay, no harm done.  :)  Thanks for supporting my topics, I just didn't want to post anything that was offensive, inappropriate, or a problem for the administrators.

@Orange Iguana: Have you had a change of heart?  Are you safe to be around any Sims?  *Hold it right there, criminal!  Just stay by this car, where it's really easy to escape, while I inspect the house.* Sims 3 cops can be utterly clueless.

I take better care of my sims now, of course... unless I'm doing something like Gold Digger in which case, enjoy your fenced pool, rich spouse.

Tee hee, Iguana.  I've never actually tried for Gold Digger, I've always wanted to.  There just doesn't seem to be enough rich unmarried men in the neighborhoods, but I think it would be cool.
