What do you think about purposely killing Sims?
« on: June 02, 2012, 12:19:28 PM »
I know this topic was brought up before, but it was 60+ days old, so I've decided to repost it.  What do you think of purposely drowning and burning Sims?  I feel it is wrong and kind of creepy.  What sort of person would kill something, even if its just in a video game, to release stress? I guess it could work, I'm just not the sort of person to do that.  EA never intended for this to be a killing game (they already have plenty of those).  What do you think about this?

Well I only do it to add "Drama" or because it needs to happen in a story. I have mastercontroller so I can just click "Force Kill" then choose the method  :P

It depends on how much I like the sim, which file I'm playing, and whether or not the file's name is "chamber". I generally only kill when I'm mad (Yep, take it out on the sims!) or my "friend" forces me to.

To Miss Cupcake:  Wow.  Your friend really forces you to kill your Sims? And she's your friend? It would also depend on how much I liked the Sim, but I just wouldn't be as sad when they passed if I didn't like them a lot.  I would really, really have to hate them to kill them.  Did you know that babies and toddlers are immune to fire?

Actually, I never knew that! But who would want to kill the little nooboos?
She's not really my friend, she just thinks she is. Her younger sister is nice but she always tells me to do things, calls me a crybaby when I'm crying for a perfectly good reason (Apparently, falling off a trampoline isn't a good reason to cry), and just generally beng annoying.

I have a friend quite similar to your friend there, but we're getting off topic.  No one would ever kill a nooboo, I don't think, but I just read that somewhere.  I think their immunity is for in the case of a natural accident.

I was desensitized to killing sims way back in Sims 1 where I created a family for the sole purpose of playing Rock Paper Scissors with Grim. He would have a baby, raise it to a kid, kill the kid, and then the next round of that family's Rock Paper Scissors tournament would begin.

...I was a heartless person back then.

*Looks at my brother*... I think that answers it all  :o

If I'm attached to a family I will never ever let them die!

@WickedSimmer: Whoa, whoa, whoa.  You know we're just talking about Sims, not actual human brothers? ::)

@Orange Iguana: Have you had a change of heart?  Are you safe to be around any Sims?  *Hold it right there, criminal!  Just stay by this car, where it's really easy to escape, while I inspect the house.* Sims 3 cops can be utterly clueless.

JK Wicked and Iguana, you know I'm just teasing you. ;)

When my sister had her first robber, she actually thought she was going to make a run for it!
I sometimes kill sims for story purposes, and that's only if I have the heart to. I made a teen and a placeholder adult that I tried to make as unlikeable as I could, but I felt really bad when I drowned her.
I think the immunity thing is for protection just in case nooboo likes the big shiny orange flame.

Awwww... Does da whittle nooboo wike da fwames?  I feel bad for the little guys when it's only them left, though.  I just couldn't resist saying that!  I think that since the Sims run into the fire (no clue why), they would probably carry their nooboo into the flames with them.  And sometimes it's just too hard to bear if you were to lose them that young.

LOL
I've actually had one sim who carried the nooboos out of the house before running and screaming at the flames. He then became my favorite sim and I changed his name to Awesome McCool.

I am almost tempted to puropsely start a fire to see if a toddler will die but can you imagine the guilt if they did actually die.

My daughter had a toddler Sim who survived a direct meteor hit the house around her was destroyed and she lost both parents in the tragedy. She was taken away by the social worker and my daughter was not a happy bunny.

Seeing as how your nooboo survived a meteor, I'm pretty sure they can survive fire. Hopefully they do, because I don't like burnt toddlers.
