Downloading Late Night onto an existing game

I am having some trouble with late night . I download it onto the computer, and i open my previous file. It does not give me an option with the city or any of the new features. but when i started a new file to test if the city would work on that, it let me live in the city. To sum up my question, how do you download late night onto an already existing file? Ambitions downloaded onto it but not late night. Thanks!

Wait, it downloaded on, but there is no city! how do i get my sim to live in the city?

If you are talking about adding a "downtown city area" to a neighborhood, you can't. It's not like the Sims 2 Night Life. Late Night is completely different in that it comes with a city of it's own called Bridgeport. You can, however, add the community lots that came with Late Night to the other neighborhoods. There should be some already built in your lot bin, or you can always build your own.
