Recreating Sims 2 Sim people to play in Sims 3
« on: May 28, 2012, 06:05:41 PM »
Lately, when I'm not playing Sims 3. I've been making biographies of some of my Sims 2 sim people.  I've been trying to take the info in the bios and translate it into something that will work for Sims 3.

Hubby helped me create a couple of Sims2 sim people. It's gone okay. We usually pick one or two features and go from there. Say for example, pick a favorite color and maybe glasses if the Sims2 person had glasses, that sort of thing.

Has anyone tried this? (Recreating Sim2 sim people for Sims 3) If so, how did your sim people turn out?

I'm going to move this to the General Discussion board because it's discussing Sims 3.  The Babble Board is for things not relating to Sims 3.

Thank you for moving the thread Pam. I wasn't entirely sure where to put it as it's related to both Sims2 and Sims3.

I recently tried to recreate the Caliente sisters (I'm not particularly fond of the Barnacle Bay versions). I think I made their faces a bit too long, but otherwise I like how they turned out.

The problem with the BB versions, is that the traits are wrong. Yours are awesome, but personally, I think that style belongs more on Nina than Dina. Dina should have the base game hair. The outfits are defiantly fitting straight down to the T, though! I love your representations.

For Cassandra Goth, I would suggest the Generations pigtails, and the meidevial gown from the time machine in Ambitions. You would have to open the "unlockoutfits on" cheat, though. Kaylynn, again, requires that same cheat.  :D

Way cool! I did a re-creation of their townhouse a while back, and remade the girls as well. For the fun of it, I merged them into the Barnacle Bay version of the Caliente household. Here's the shots:

The Nina twins

The Dina twins (BB Dina looks unhappy, heh)

I had also remade Don Lothario's townhouse as well as Don. I couldn't resist taking a snapshot of my Don and the Riverview Don in the townhouse living room.

The Lothario boys

I have some cleanup and inventorying to do, but I plan to upload them to the Swap Shop later on. :)

Where is Dina's dress from? Can you post a link if it's store content?  :)

Thanks Jeana  :). By "style", do you mean hairstyle? I actually did have that hairstyle on Nina for a bit, but in the end I liked the one with more volume, lol.

Hmm, I hadn't thought about making Cassandra. The medieval gown is a really good idea.

Comparison shots are an awesome idea! I really like your version of Don Lothario, you've done a great job on his outfit. And his house, by the look of it. :)

Where is Dina's dress from? Can you post a link if it's store content?

Jeana, I think Flynn Arrowstar was using this dress. The one I'm using is from Showtime.

I didn't even notice the house! The house looks really awesome! It's a shame TS3 doesn't have that mini toaster oven TS2 had.

I had to take a peek at the dress again, but yes, Dina is wearing a store dress. It's called:

After Party Dress = 75 SimPoints
http://store.thesims3.com/productDetail.html?productId=OFB-SIM3:20951

Isn't Don a Cutie?! *Smile* Not sure if Don is wearing any store clothing or not. However, I do think one of the pieces maybe from one of the expansions or stuff packs. I think Hubby did a great job on all of them.

I wasn't impressed with the BB Nina and Dina either. They both looked a little too sun-baked, and even more so sitting next to their "twins"

But Nina and Dina were fake tan in Sims 2 anyways!  :P Don has defiantly lost his tan from TS2 to TS3 in my opinion, but the main issue with the BB Caliente Sisters was that their personalities were wrong. Dina's traits should have been: Easily Impressed, Childish, Inappropriate, Flirty, Commitment Issues. Nina's should have been: Hopeless Romantic, Grumpy, No Sense of Humor, Loner. Good effort though, EA!  :)

I thought I'd revive this thread to show off the new versions of Nina, Dina and Don that I made for the latest building contest. This time, I used the EA-made versions of the Sims and tweaked their features until I was satisfied with how they looked. What do you think?

They weren't spray tanned they just had darker skin. Also I think you have the twins the wrong way around, I always considered Dina to be the grumpy one who was in things for the money. Then Nina was the one who had no goals and was more open to trying out her options.  :P

Yep, they kind of were.
