Gold Digger Lifetime Wish
« on: May 24, 2012, 05:29:19 PM »
My question is does the Gold Digger have to be the only one living in the household with the rich Sim who dies?  And what is the cut off for rich and is it the same as wealthy?

"There are many paths to acquiring wealth, though some are more devious and selfish than others. Gold Diggers seek to marry the incredibly wealthy and yearn to see the "hopefully" premature demise of their spouse. It's the only way to really enjoy the money - alone and rich with the spouse six-feet under in the backyard."

My Gold Digger has seen the dead spouse as they die and just before they died I checked and it said they were rich.  The cost of the furnished house was over 100,000 and the unfurnished price was over 50,000.  The household funds were over 50,000.

Also does the wish get fulfilled as soon as the ghost is seen?  Sorry if there are too many questions in this post.

They don't have to be the only person in the household.

Not sure for second.

Last answer: Yes the LTW is fulfilled when your sim sees the ghost

I think the only way Sims 3 identifies wealth is to say "rich", so your deceased Sim should be on target.  As soon as the ghost comes out and the spouse sees it, you should get the LTW fulfilled.  Sometimes the LTW doesn't fulfill immediately (with any LTW) and it's just a glitch in the game.  Usually, it will show as fulfilled when you next start the game or pretty soon thereafter.

Thank you, I guess I'll try saving it and see if that works.

I had a hard time finishing this one. The only way I found that I could do it was for my sim with the LTW to be present in the room when my wealthy spouse died. Any other time even when the ghost popped up for me the wish didn't complete. But whenever the sims died and my chosen sim was there to witness the wish was completed. And I don't mean like in the household, they were in the room watching the reaper take my sim away.

I think I may have figured out why my Sim's Gold Digger wish isn't working out.  The Gold Digger is an EA made Sim and I guess the Sim has to have the Lifetime Wish set before the marriage to a rich Sim occurs in order for it to work. Maybe that's it.  Thoughts anyone?

I had to change my LTW in my first Dynasty with Artie because he never actually confirmed Agnes was rich before she moved in.   Maybe you actually have to have them as rich before you're in the same household.  I don't know exactly.

Not sure. My sim married Matthew Hammings brother, after Matthew dumped her, and his wish was "Gold Digger". She got rid of him, so I never got to see the results. He had an untimely death.
