That's what I do. But what do you do if they are ALL very handsome, talented, and intelligent?  :o

Martial Arts tournament. Winner gets to stay.

That is hillarious.

Well as I tend to play either dynasties or decadynasties I don't really have to worry about this. Immortal dynasty nobody can leave and decadynasty the oldest child has to leave taking the player with them of course.
When I played legacies usually the oldest child got to stay in the house and I would marry any spares to townies and if they were female make sure they were expecting before I moved them out or if males make sure that their spouse was expecting before the wedding.

As strange as it may seem sometime you just get attached to a Sim and want to spend time with them watching them lives their lives other times you just want that Sim out of your house.

I think that my problem with at least one family; the one that I have kept have "tagged" to be a legacy for me.  I can't decide on Tamara or Derek, the twins I don't think I will have a problem with in moving out, set them up in a nice home and tell them to visit when they can.  But Tamara, she is the first "child" that I have raised and I don't want to let her go, neither do I want Derek to leave, but I don't want to deal with two families.

I have become more attached to the sims than what I had expected to.  I felt an irritation at Conner not just for cheating again, but for tellling his son on the day he aged up to teen.  I know that is isn't real, but sheesh.

At least now I have a more postive outlook for my founder parents so I won't see them as a bother when they become elders, it will be hard to see them grow old, but that is part of life and I think I will just let them have whatever fun they want.

Hm, then none stay, I have a final baby who is pre-destined to be my all-time favorite of all time and kick everyone else out upon aging.

Also, martial arts tournament sounds like a most excellent idea.
