Apart from the usual gems, seeds and money bags, there a some really big surprises in the Time Machine.

A trip to the Past gave me a really beautiful Medieval Costume, but it was a trip to the Future which really left me reeling.  I brought back a perfect little (school aged) clone of myself!

Can't count the number of kids I've brought back. Some futuristic clothes are cool. Books you can't buy in town or on vacation. My sim saved someone in the past and their ancestors immigrated to her town as best friends.

I've yet to get a child or friends out of it, but I did get a very expensive book from the future once, and I was ecstatic when I scored a cavewoman outfit.  It worked out perfectly for the one who got it too, she had just turned adult and none of the outfits were really working for her, especially as a Pop Icon - after a subtle recolor, the cavewoman outfit solved everything. Too bad this happened months ago, long before the recent patch, otherwise I would have made it her work outfit as opposed to the default one at that stage of the career.

My sims never bring much back. I've had a cool medieval outfit and a pink diamond, probably the coolest things so far. I'm a little jealous of everyone who's had time kids.

My sim once got into a fight with someone (can't remember the details)  and came back and their brother was now their arch-enemy.  I was all "WHAT!??!!?" and they wouldn't even talk to each other (I couldn't smooth out the relationship at all) they only yelled and fought each other.  I eventually cheated and changed their relationship to be friends again.  I couldn't handle the anger! ha!  ::)

I've also received fun clothes, books, and several children (or elder depending if I want to past or future).

Jw, if you went to the future...how did you bring back yourself? Wouldn't that be the Past?

And the most awesome thing I go -since I haven't brought back any little kids xD- was an awesome outfit from the future.
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.  :D

A new career? What do you mean?

Another thing was my sim had a message about riding in the Wild West "...which will be sure to help her in the future". That was before Pets, so it was a hint to horses in Pets.

When you travel in the past, you have the chance of somehow altering the past to change the career of a random sim in your household. The one I recall best is that I had my traveling sim run into someone, scattering papers, and my Culinary career sim suddenly wound up in the Business path.

Yes that my Science Sim ended up in the political career.

I've had quite a few children come back from the future but only once while travelling in the past (you'd think it's be an elder not a child but no).  I have gotten some odd outfits from the past, (not much overjoyed with the Ghengis Khan outfit but the others are okay) but only one black and green spacesuit type outfit from the future.

I too have had the new friend because you saved someone in the past.  I had a lot of books, cut gems, and Simoleons, but I've never had the career change.  Is that a future or past option?

I began nixing any wishes to travel in time because my game seemed to throw up the child option far too often.  Most of them were never a problem but a couple were.  Once when my Sim was married and hubby went time travelling.  The child was her step-daughter which killed her and hubby's eternally faithful moodlets but another time my single Sim girl got the "child out of wedlock" shame moodlet for 3 days so everywhere she went, people gave her the thumbs down and jeered.  Not happy!
