Chances are we won't get a Seasons EP though because it would be too hard to incorporate weather and seasons across the game world without computers blowing up.

Let's not go there, please.  We don't know what Electronic Arts has planned and we shouldn't speculate one way or the other at this point.

I believe Sims 2 had a weather expansion, but none so far with Sims 3.  It's always sunny everywhere!

I think some of the towns do get different amounts of cloud cover every so often. Bridgeport in particular seems to be more foggy on some days than on others.

I remember reading somewhere that EA planned to introduce weather in Late Night (so there'd be weather in Bridgeport), but didn't. I guess that the fog thickening would be a left over effect from that.

I'm almost certain Seasons will come. There are a few mods that incorporate seasons - If mods can do it, so can EA.

For some reason, I've always noticed that SV is a bit more sunny than other towns? I think each town kinda has like, it's own weathery feel about it. For example, Hidden Springs with the snow capped mountains kind of reminds me of a colder climate, like maybe Iceland or something. (Totally not why I set my dynasty there ;) ) Twinbrook never usually seems that sunny to me, although I've only played there once. Then there's the fog in BP, and from what I've heard, some days the city can get super foggy. Again, I do reckon we'll get Seasons though, but for now there are particular climates for each town.

Hmmmm I wouldn't mind living somewhere where it's sunny all the time! (England is not the sunniest place  ::) ) It would be fun if seasons was introduced, and we had to make different outfits for different weathers, and our sims change into that outfit depending on the weather. I mean, I wouldn't send my sim out in shorts if its snowing! Or would I....

I remember having read some article (third-party) saying that all of the towns in The Sims 3 are, scientifically, somewhere in California. This study was done by calculating cloud cover, sun position, et cetera.

If this is true, California really doesn't get much snow, does it? (The non-mountainous parts, I mean).

In Create-A-World there is an option to adjust cloud coverage. At the minimum end you get something like Sunset Valley. In the middle is more Bridgeport. Full Cloud coverage, now that is awesome. One word: apocalypse.  :D

I wonder if they'll ever use the full coverage on one of the up and coming towns. (I predict it may come with the magic EP 8))

It makes me wonder if that has been a future plan for the games.  Why would they have put in various seasonal clothing?  Winter coats, hats, and such in a summer like environment?  Why would they have added them in if not planning in some future time to have a weather addition.

It is just speculation on my part, of course, they could have done so just for the heck of it.
Like some of the selections of floor and wall coverings, surely they could have found some better choices?  And I wonder at some of the prebuilt houses if the person was depressed when they created it, all dark inside.
Which is in all probability a matter of taste; I see colors as a repensation of emotions, I prefer light, bright warm colors and lots of windows to let light in.  The reason for my warm, sunny yellow kitchen.
