Yes you have.  You can remove the sprinklers if you want as they are not needed once you make it a community lot.

Yes you did good! I've only had the death flowers die like wild red said, I couldn't revive them at all. Just save it to your library and you're good to go! I've used my premade garden twice now and all has gone well! Non-gardeners can harvest too! Sprinklers aren't necessary either.

I added gnomes. A garden can't grow properly without them. :)

LOL! That's cool! I think it's funny in my home garden when I go to tend it, they're standing or lying by the plants!

Haha, that's a joke, right? If not, I really like to hear more about that. I like gardening as much ingame as I do dislike it in real life.

Many of our members have an unnatural fascination with gnomes.  She's kidding about it helping the garden grow.  :)

Thanks, Pam. I missed Leto's question.

Regarding money trees: has anyone figured out the optimum distance apart to plant them? The reason I ask is that although I only put one tree in each square, when they spawn new seeds it's never in between the trees, only on the outside edge of the garden. I'm wondering whether I might get more money tree seeds by planting them farther apart from each other.

I have a garden of about 30 and I have them right next to each other and the seeds just fall on either side of the trees.  I guess too, it depends how much room you have too.  I just think it looks neat, lol.

But how much space do you have between rows?

If you have a self-employed gardener, needing to sell a certain amount of produce to advance to the next level, do money bags count for their advancement?  If they do, a garden with a few money trees would be a fast ride to the top of the gardener career!

Money bags do count. But, believe me, if Money Trees are going to be your main source of income for a gardener to advance, you'll want more than just a few — i.e. see the outside shot of the Man house in my Dynasty thread.

I have seen your house!  Front path to the house lined with Money Trees - a tad ostentatious, yes?  ;D My Dynasty has about 20 money trees at this point, and the ground around them is littered with seeds.  I haven't bothered to plant the seeds because the garden is already taking up enough time, and frankly, they have way more money than they know what to do with.  But now that I know that money bags do count towards the gardener's income, that sounds like a very easy way for a future generation to get to level 10 of their career.  Thanks for the information.

Usually I go seed hunting before my gardener even reaches level 7 and by then they have quite a few.  My founder had, like 20 special seeds, he got two stinking money trees, is it.  Usually when I do that, it is more like 7 to 10 money trees a pop.  Oh well, guess ya can't have everything. lol

Will have to remember that about the money bags.  I have not done the gardening profession yet.

That's not my strategy because it's been my experience that the game needs time to "seed the seeds." Don't believe me? Cheat and give yourself 40k happiness points to get a Collection Helper for a brand new Sim. Then look at how many seeds there are in the neighborhood. There's definitely some, but not many. There's half a dozen places in Sunset Valley where the Special Seeds spawn and I'm not sure if I've ever found them on day 1.

But, getting to level 7 is quite easy. I just plant and fertilize like crazy on day 1 and typically can make it to lvl 7.

There's a cheat for that?

I'm not sure when I originally got the game if that was the case or not, but whether I'm wrong about that, or whether they used a patch, EP, or SP to do it, that's definitely the case now. That goes for stuff in the junkyards too. I tried an experiment where I put extra salvage-type spawners in a junkyard before I started the clock on the game, and even then nothing showed up until day two or three.

True. In fact, if your Sim is working, you can quickly be in over your head with tending your garden.
