Hello, i'm sorta new to sims 3, and i've been wondering. Does the AI sims age as well? Also if the AI sims age and i was to turn off the aging option, would they stop aging aswell? Thanks in advance.

Hi soo...I am assuming when you say AI you mean story progression(?).  If you turn off Story Progression and not aging, sims in your game will just age and not get married, have kids, etc.  If you turn off aging and story progression, they will just be there for eternity.

I'm hoping this is what you mean.  If not, there will be someone on soon who will be able to help you better than I did.  :)

Oh, uh that wasn't what I meant, but thx for the help. What i was asking was If the story progression was on, but the aging was off. Will the NPC sims still age, marry and move on with their lives?

:D ok sorry.  I believe if aging is off, nobody ages.  Before the first patch, the story progression toggle would turn off but story progression continued.  The first patch was supposed to fix that problem as ppl were screaming about their games.  I'm not sure if story progression is on and aging is off just what would happen to simmies as I play with both on.

Pam or Carl will probably be able to help you more about your question. Good Luck!  :)

Oh, one extra question that just popped up. Is there a way for your sim to stay at the same age while the NPC and the story progressed?

Hi Sooisme and welcome!

If you have Story Progression turned on and Aging turned off, all Sims will continue through their lives, but they won't grow older.  It's a little confusing to me, actually, because how can marriages and births happen without growing older?  But that's my understanding of how it works.

As for your question about everyone else aging while your Sim stays the same, another way to accomplish is this is to feed Life Fruit and/or Ambrosia to your Sim.  Life Fruit will add one day to your Sim's life for each piece of fruit eaten.  Ambrosia will reset the aging bar back to the beginning of your Sim's current age category (Young Adult, Adult, Elder).
