Help with Changing Screen Resolution

Hi,
I was hoping to get help with fixing my screen resolution. Right now I am having either of two problems. When I run the game in fullscreen mode the bottom and top of the screen are cut off on any resolution that I run the game on. When I run the game in windowed mode I can see everything but text becomes cut off and unreadable. I was wondering if anyone here might have a solution for this. I will include my system specs to help in troubleshooting.

So if I read that right your Monitor is 1216 x 684 Resolution? What does it say your game is set as in the resolution tab? It could be that you have the wrong resolution set in the game options. I know that with mine, it's like 1366x768 and in Game there are two 1366 options available but one of them is a slightly lower/higher number than the 768 and I've selected that one before now based on the fact that it started with 1366. So have you double checked the Games resolution to make sure it's the same as your monitors setting?

I that is part of the problem I can't find a resolution to match my screen resolution. Every resolution that my monitor will run is at least 768 on the height. Right now I have it set on 1280x768. That's why I was hoping there was a way that I could force the game into my custom resolution. Or figure out what is happening in windowed. Everything displays correctly with the exception of text. Which is really block and cut off. Like a problem with aspect ratio. I have tried editing the .ini file but it just returns to default settings.

That's odd, I would have thought the game would adapt to give options for your monitor. Sadly I'm not much of a Wiz on the advanced stuff. I know what you mean about the windowed mode though - it's irritating. I don't know but would changing your screens resolution help anyway? Maybe changing it to a number available in the game might help but then you'd have to change it back afterwards?

I don't know if it helps but my desktop resolution is 1680x1050 (widescreen) and my game resolution is 1600x900 (16:9 ratio).

If I play at my native (desktop) resolution, the blurriness is awful on fonts/etc, things are cut off and it's just bad around. I think the issue could be that using a widescreen monitor (as most flat screens/laptop screens now are) is that the game doesn't quite recognize those who have funny resolutions (yours and mine are rather odd resolutions compared to the 'normal' ones from most monitors/graphics cards).

I disabled fullscreen mode and just play windowed, at the resolution that closely matches the ratio of my monitor (16:9 is the ratio). Here's a screenshot to show what I mean (click to enlarge). Hope that helps somewhat.



Are you on a laptop or using a PC monitor?
