Gilbert Immortal Dynasty: Union Cove

Starting a band wasn't the only new activity for the Gilbert household. Terry and Jasmine decided it was time for them to find some new jobs to keep them busy.

Jasmine decided to join the music career track. Here she is coming home from her first day at the new job.



She's also learning how to play the guitar.



As you can see, a singed Linus jumped in to play the drums. But normally, when Jasmine takes the guitar, Vex switches to drums and Terry learns bass. Just trying to mix things up a little bit!



Terry, meanwhile, also decided to get a new job. And what better job for a daredevil who loves to wield high tech gadgets than Ghosthunter?



Look out, household ghosts! Better not get on Terry's bad side now.



Terry also decided to take up a new hobby: painting. Apparently, she heard from the Grims that neurotic sims make cool paintings, so she decided to try it out.



Fantastic!

And Vex? Well, he decided he needed something new in his life, too.

Vex: "Baby, please don't break my heart, because I have a feeling it would take more than just a little band-aid to patch that giant hole up!"



Apparently, Linus has been teaching him some good pick-up lines.

A long day of wooing ensues.



Until finally, success! Vex plants his first smack-a-roo on the lady of his choice.



One of Linus's children just stands and stares.



Um, no you can't buy something right now. Go away!

Yes that is a very awesome painting.  Good job Terry.   Good update.  I can't wait to see what happens next for Vex and his new lady.

I'm left wondering what Vex's lady love's name is. If it were me, I'd take her to town hall and name her Ation, so it would be the Vex/Ation wedding. *Rolls on floor laughing*

Vex came home from a long day of wooing Kiki (as readers pointed out, I forgot to give her name last time). Yes, you read correctly. Kiki. It's a silly and frivolous name, but it didn't seem to deter Vex.

Thinking about nooboos . . .



Autonomously grabbing "Baby Incoming: Preparing with Vigilance" from the bookshelf . . .



Okay, okay, Vex! I get the message! But here's the problem, blue boy. You don't have compatible astrological signs. The option to go steady wouldn't pop up at the internet cafe no matter how irresistible she found you. Even with a maxed out relationship she occasionally declined your romantic interactions. And now since she's a vendor, she won't come over when you call her up.

. . .

But, but:



Look at those lovely purple eyes!

*sigh* Okay, fine! I'll buy the internet cafe and delete the register! Give her another call.

Success! Kiki is on her way over.



The romantic interaction to go steady successfully pops up!



She accepts! But only a moment later:



Kiki randomly rejects another flirt.

Well, I'm sorry to do this so unromantically, Kiki, but we really need to know what your answer is going to be to the big question.

So, will you?



Will Kiki say "yes" or will the game throw a wrench into Vex's best laid plans?

Kiki's Decision

So, Kiki, will you?

She says yes!



Wow, I'm actually surprised.



Not that I didn't have faith in your charms, blue boy! But still . . . Kiki is by far the most difficult sim I have ever wooed. She did not have any difficult traits such as non-flirty or no commitment. I'm pretty sure it was just the non-compatible astrological signs. I have read (although it's never happened to me before) that occasionally the game will not let sims without compatible signs get married. I was really worried Kiki would just laugh him off when he proposed!

Well, Vex, you got her! I hope she makes you happy, because after all this trouble, she better be worth it!

Everybody, get dressed up! It's time we celebrate.



With a bachelor party, of course! The gang heads down the Corner Bar for some fun.

Terry joins the party dancers with a little bogey of her own.



Some random invitee runs screaming out of the bar every time Vex glows red.





Then he comes back inside the bar just to run away screaming again.



Apparently, this is how cowardly sims respond to the red glow if they aren't close friends. Wow, can you just imagine how crazy life in the Gilbert household would be if this is how Fred reacted too?

Linus gets accused of cheating by one of his lady friends.



What's that you say? Did Vex invite them here just for that purpose? Naw, he wouldn't do that . . . I mean, it's not like he's evil, right?

Vex sprays his favorite great-grandpy Fred with fizzy nectar.



Here it comes!



And soaked!



Vex is clearly delighted with himself.



And of course, what kind of party would it be if Fred Gilbert and the Blue Sim Band didn't play?



Well, it was a crazy night for everyone. In closing, I leave you with one last picture for hilarity. Kiki steals Fred's bed while staying the night.



Fred: "Omg, get out of my bed and get dressed! Vex is gonna kill me if he finds you here!"

As with so many important conversations in the Gilbert household, Vex pulled Kiki aside one evening in the bathroom for a little chat.

Vex: "Honey, you turn Elder in two days. I think we need to hurry up, get married, and produce an heir. What'dya say?"



Overcome by Vex's romantic advances, Kiki agrees to a simple, rooftop ceremony that night. After all, we haven't had a wedding on the home lot since it was re-modeled!

As Vex waits for his bride, he literally glows with excitement.



Vex is convinced that proposing to Kiki is his best scheme yet.

Vex: "All I did was give this girl some measly diamond and now she will be MINE. Muwahaha!"



Amidst tears and snuffles from the family, the wedding begins.



Kiki goes first.



Kiki: "I, Kiki, do take thee Vex to be my husband--even though I know you're totally evil and will undoubtedly steal lolly-pops from our child."



Then Vex.



Vex: "I, Vex, do take thee Kiki to be my wife--even though your name is extremely silly."



You may kiss the bride!





Jasmine and Fred hold back tears.



Terry throws some rice.



And the newly weds?



They get frisky!



Well, Vex. You look mightily pleased with yourself!



Better get ready, blue boy! Soon it will be lolly-pop stealing time!

Kiki's Child

As soon as the deed was done, Kiki began stuffing herself full of apples in preparation for bringing about Generation Five.



Aside from one rather unfortunate incident, the pregnancy went smoothly.



Vex eagerly awaits the day he can steal lollypops from see his child.



Then all too soon, the big day had come. While washing her hands in the bathroom, Kiki suddenly goes into labor.



A child born in the bathroom. My goodness! That can't be a good sign.



Forum, welcome Travis!



Curse you and purple eyes, Kiki! You lured me in only to ruin my blue streak! *sigh* I suppose it had to end sometime.

Kiki: "Oh, shush. You'll be thanking me soon enough when you see how handsome he grows up. I have good genes! Besides, this is why you had Linus and his children!"

Well, he better get your purple eyes. Just sayin'.

Moments later, Kiki ages up to Elder.



Another epic bathroom moment in the Gilbert household.



Regardless of the color of the baby, Vex insists that lolly-pops stolen from babies are the most delicious in the whole world!



Linus is none too happy with his brother's behavior, but that doesn't slow Vex down for a second. He enjoys his ill-gotten lolly-pops!



Of course, great-great grandpy Fred is once more on baby duty.

Fred: "Don't you worry little Travis! We both know white sims are the best. Shh, here comes your father! Don't tell him I said that!"



Now, let's get Arthur in this house and start whipping you up a future blue bride! Just a quick trip the mirror to get rid of those cornrows.



And off you go to China!

Artie says that lollies taken from burrito babies are the most scrumptious but he never turns down the chance to do it to toddlers either. 

My nephew ran in here while I was reading updates.  He says to me.  "Artie needs a jacket."  Why? "He's blue!"  Then he called Vex Ares because he noticed the sides of his head were shaved.  It took 10 minutes to explain that Vex was someone else and not one of my Sims.   He liked the updates as much I did after that.    Welcome little Travis!

No sooner had Arthur returned home from China than it was time for little baby Travis to age up. Unfortunately, as I was away from my computer at the time (waiting for the excessively long loading screen from Arthur's visit to finish loading) I only managed to snag one picture of the event.



And here he is in the mirror:



Yes, he got Kiki's purple-grey eyes! Okay, Kiki. I forgive you. And yes, he's completely adorable. The hair color, it took me a second to realize, is from his dad Vex. Looks a lot better on the mohawk, huh? For now, I am changing Travis's hair color to match his mom's.



Not sure if he'll keep it, but it'll do for now.

Before we get to adorable toddler pictures of Travis, there are more birthdays to be had. That's right, Vex and Linus are officially becoming old.



Two brothers, once such good friends, now made enemies all because of a red glow.

First Linus:



As you can see, Arthur invited his Chinese girlfriend for a stay in Union Cove.



Then Vex:



Vex: "Oh no, my mohawk is gone! And what's with my hand being all blurry?"



Man, I was not prepared to see Vex old. He's so rebellious and lively! Don't worry, blue boy, I'll fix you up with a nice wardrobe. Now let's go get that mohawk back.
