As I'm new to Pets I want to clarify something--is adopting a pet at a place where there is a "Neighbourhood Pet Adoption" tag the same as adopting from the shelter? Or is that allowed for this challenge?

Basically the only way to bring a pet into your household is to adopt a wild one.

Okay. That is turning out to be way tougher than I imagined! Glad I am on board practising already!

My bad. Someone just PM'd me and said there was one other way besides adopting a wild animal to bring in a pet besides adopting from the shelter. And it got my seal of approval, so it's one of those "either you know it or you don't" things.

Okay, then it's my bad. I remember testing stuff when Pets first came out and I saw 4 pet slots available with the number of Sims I had at the time. I'll check it out now and edit the rules.

Could someone clarify on whether a ghost pet can actually be added to the household? Thanks.

I know this is quite late in the day but my seven year old has managed to have a ghost pet in her household,so if a seven year old can do it so can everyone else.

I think I know it then. I'll be trying for that then :) Thanks Metro

Does Imaginary Friend really mean Imaginary Friend turned real?  I'm guessing it does because an Imaginary Friend does not have a place in the Household until it is turned real, but I wanted to check to be sure.

Haha. Interesting, Rachel. And yes, my bad...I missed your post. Well, everyone is still limited to 10 household slots which means I could ramp up the difficulty and change the standard pet life state to a ghost pet life state. Thoughts?

I am not sure that it is more difficult but it would certaintly take longer and rely on some luck.

Well, then I'll just have to balance any luck involved with more skill.  ;) It will have to be a blue ghost pet. 'Nuff said. I'm off to edit the rules.

Awww, Metro, I thought it was hard enough already getting a pet without using the shelter. [edited — Metro]

Haha. That's what I love to hear. And here's a little teaser for everyone—if you like the idea of this event — then just think bigger and involving multiple neighborhoods/generations for something I have yet to unveil.
