The Life State Race

Goal
With all the Sims 3 expansions in the last few years, players are offered many different types of life states to bring a variety of gameplay options. So, the goal here is a simple race to fill your household with all available life states. Vampires, Mummies, and Sim Bots...oh my!

General Challenge Rules
The General Challenge Rules always apply. If applicable, exceptions will be noted below.

Specific Challenge Rules
  • Create a Young Adult Sim.
  • All expansions must be installed.
  • No restrictions on vacation days allowed, but total vacation days of all household members—look at all Adventure Journals—must be added in your final score).
  • If the town you want to play in does not have an empty lot to build a home, then you are free to use Edit Town to make that happen.
  • If the town you want to play in does not have a lot designated as a Fishing Spot, you are free to use Edit Town to make that happen.
  • Additionally, you may also use Edit Town to place the Equestrian Center.
  • Please DO NOT ask for any clarifications if your question hints at strategy. You can always PM me.
  • The challenge ends when your household consists of: a Sim (normal life state), a Ghost, a Mummy, a Simbot, a Vampire, an Imaginary Friend, a Genie, an offspring Hybrid (parents must be two different life states** above — i.e. a Mummy and a Ghost), a blue Ghost Pet, and a Unicorn.
  • The parental life states need to be established before Trying For Baby (the Hybrid life state).
Scoring
When you have all 10 different life states in your household, pause your game and note the Week and Day on the game clock. You also need to add the number of vacation days listed in all household members' Adventure Journals to your Total Days.

This looks like too much fun to pass up.  I guess I'm going to have to go ahead and buy Showtime.

No, but you would need to add up the total days of anyone who went on the vacation.

This sounds like fun.  I don't know if I have time to do the lifetime wishes one, so I might end up doing this one after the tourist one.  I have one question, though.   I thought, including pets, that the maximum number in a house was ten?  Are you sure there can be eleven?

Yes, there are 8 regular slots and 4 pet slots.

I have another question.  What if you don't get everything you need while on your one vacation?  Would you have to get a DNF or could you take another one and add the days to your score?

Excellent question. I will modify the rules to allow unrestricted vacation so long as players count all days against the score.

Everything I've read says that you're limited to 10 household members -- 8 sims and 2 pets, or other combinations up to 4 sims and 6 pets. However, I don't think a ghost pet can be added to the household.

This looks very challenging and interesting. I'm glad you removed the one-vacation restriction.

Edited to removed something that might suggest strategy.

Okay, then it's my bad. I remember testing stuff when Pets first came out and I saw 4 pet slots available with the number of Sims I had at the time. I'll check it out now and edit the rules.

Could someone clarify on whether a ghost pet can actually be added to the household? Thanks.

Great idea for a challenge.  I've been thinking about doing this for fun someday.  I have never had a genie or a mummy in my household and I like the idea of hybrids.  This is going to be so much fun!  I'm not sure if I will make a test file or not.  I did that for the tourist challenge and have yet to make a scoring file.   One small hitch at this point.  I don't have Pets.  I have a concern about buying it which I will post on the appropriate thread.

Okay, 10 is definitely the max household number -- I just tested. So, it will be simple enough -- I'll just drop the Pet ghost and also require that the added Pet cannot be bought or adopted.

Awww, shame I can't do this and go on the leaderboard (missing showtime ep) but I guess I could try it without hopes of the leaderboard anyway!  :P
