New Sims 3 Stuff Pack - Diesel Stuff
« on: May 10, 2012, 10:34:34 AM »
I was surfing the interweb and stumbled across this.
The clothing and furnishings to me look like CC materials, which I don't like the look of.  :-\

Tell me what you think.

Looks okay.. Interesting how it's coming out so soon to the Katy Perry pack? I agree that some of the stuff looks like CC stuff, but a few of the dresses there seem pretty. The furniture looks super cool!!

EDIT: For the sake of having pictures on this thread -

This looks quite tacky to me, as others have said it looks a lot like some CC out there. It doesn't look like it belongs in Sims to me and well I prefer the KP one to this.  ???

According to the TS3 site the KP pack isn't really a stuff pack. It's more like an addition to Showtime because of the KP tie in.

This is the site to the tie in to this pack

Personally after the KP stuff I'm glad to see this. This is one I'll probably get. I like the more industrial  look to the furniture.

Thanks Runamok. :) I wonder if I don't buy the KP one, seeing as it's just an add-on to Showtime, but do buy everything else, then I'll still count as having the whole collection.. ;)

I'm really not overly mad about this SP, but I like the furniture. Providing that it's not too expensive in-game, this could be the sort of make-your-house-look-stylish-without-breaking-the-bank sort of stuff that has been missing since the base game? Waiting for more screenies to make my mind up about the clothes, but some of it could look nice with a recolour. :)

I was pretty excited when rumours about this stuff pack started to spread. I knew about this brand before and I thought they only made clothes, but it turned out I was wrong. I checked out their website and I thought it all looked pretty cool.

It looks quite nice to me, and I can definitely see myself using most of the items in this stuff pack in my game. I already use CC furniture, so I don't mind an EA-made pack of items that look similar. I just hope they add some new, different hairstyles and that this stuff pack lives up to expectations.

I'll have to look for the thread for you Pam. It's a lot harder to find a specific thread over there than it is here, and there have been a lot of them.
If you notice all the stuff packs have the word stuff in the title,  High End Loft Stuff, Master Suite Stuff and so on. The KP pack is just called Katy Perry Sweet Treats, the word stuff doesn't appear in the title.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying, but the Sweet Treats one is listed under Stuff Packs on this page when you click the Add Ons tab.

That could be because the only thing that it is similar to is a stuff pack. That whole whateverpack seems to be a complete mess, Lol. Mixed reception and now we don' even know what it's supposed to be.  ???

I actually think it looks great! I'm going to be perfectly honest about CC though. CC can actually look and is really nice, (I use it once in a while), when someone takes time, properly meshes it, and tests it to make sure it's virus free. It adds a ton of varying options, and I treat it no differently than the hair and clothes I get at the store, an EP/SP or even the base game. (It's the skins and eyes I don't like but that's a different story). I think the stuff is very nice, and could add that extra appeal. Maybe I could re-color some of it, but I like to leave some patterns/designs alone.

I think it has that balance. I'll be buying this with KPST. I really love this SP. So I will have a set of boring realistic furniture I can re color with fun patterns, a set of classy outfits for my more serious Sims with No Sense of Humor, and to please my childish ways, and the frivolous themes, that's where Katy Perry comes in. So I'm really excited about this stuff pack.  :)

The fact that the KP one is being released round about the same time as this kinda strikes me as the KP one not being a "proper" stuff pack. Like Tom said, I think that's just the only place it fit?

That's why I said some CC, for me it fits with some of the stuff that is just too realistic for my liking. I don't know why but I find that sort of patterns/meshes just creepy...  8) I may change my mind as more pictures/videos are released.
