Dear Mother,

Faith got a lucky photograph of the gnome convention (just before we managed to wrangle them all into a locked treasure box). It looked like they were about to start a war!

But, moving on.

Prudence has given birth to Mercy. Another little blonde girl-child! I wonder if this will hold true through Mercy's child?

And then a foolish mortal tried to steal from us! Again! This time, Charity properly explained to the thief - and the warden - what happens to those who try to take from us, and so soon after a birthing! She put the fool's head into the wall of our house.

Beyond that, our days were quiet. Little Mercy grew into a lovely toddler.

Prudence explained to her just how big this world is.

Then the city honored Prudence for all of her inventions. Even to the point of the city's leader inviting her to the celebration.

Mercy than celebrated another birthday.

And Octavio knew that his day was to come soon.

I am sorry it is so short, Mother, but there will be more. I promise. I can almost feel your embrace.

LOL @ the Gnomes convention. In my previous dynasty, I kept most of these little fellas locked up in a treasure chest too. I think, they tend to slow the game down. The weirdest thing is, that even in a treasure chest, they change poses.
Welcome, Mercy! May your days be bright and peaceful! :)

I don't know if they slow down the game, but they're sure great at blocking doorways!

They went back into the chest when Faith spent 10 minutes complaining she couldn't pick up a newspaper in an empty spot around them (and then three of them melded themselves into some pedestals).

Couldn't get one of those blasted gnomes until late, and now they don't stop popping out of my gems. :(

I'm well ahead of current story, Mercy is a lovely teenager, and I'm actually tempted to change her hairstyle and makeup just to see how close to identical she is to Prudence. They have the same hair color, same eye color, and looks like same mouth.

Just wanted to give a quick update:

I don't think I'll be posting again until the end of this week, mostly for gameplay reasons. I'd hoped to finish the Dynasty before Supernatural, but that won't happen now. I do, however, want to finish it before the end of this week, and that seems more likely (Generation 8 is about to turn into a teenager at this point).

Currently between work and school, I'm squeezing my freetime into Simstime (and can handle Storytime later).

The biggest issue I'm having is visitors/paparazzi having screaming fits at my front door complaining that said front door is a barrier to walking into the kitchen and dancing with a Sim of their choice. (As in, the stupid pathing "I CAN'T GET THERE" dance because "THE FRONT DOOR IS IN THE WAY!" Argh. I want meteors to drop on them all.)

Dear Mother,

Octavio's day came sooner than we had expected, but he was almost...peaceful.

We filled our days with every day living, while Grace cooked a lot of food for us (finally, we have a photograph of her!).

Mercy did not seem to care for school, and so I knew it had to happen. And so I explained to her the truth of the world.

Truly, we did not do much, other than wait for Mercy to grow.

Oh, and Prudence also taste of our life.

Soon, Mother, I promise it will be soon.

Dear Mother,

The wardens of this land are annoying useless! We had another thief trespass upon my territory, and what did this warden do? Chat up my granddaughter! Useless, I say.

But the incident was quelled, and soon little Mercy was stripping to the skin to dance in fruit - though she claims she was making nectar. I suppose I should be grateful she never saw His Royal Grace's brother make nectar (though that was entertaining too).

Charity also decided to take up sculpture making. At least once a generation, we get a frantic phone call from the educators about a student encasing themselves into a block of sculpting material, upon which we must rush to their rescue. Never, in my wildest dreams, did I imagine that Charity would have sculpt her way out of her own mishap!

That proved to be an entertaining bit of gossip for the family. But alas, Mercy soon reached her majority, and we celebrated. There would be a final child to join us, and we hoped it would be soon. And it was, for Mercy had found a male worthy of her!

His name was Rian McDowell, and while he was living with a woman and had sired a daughter on her, it appears he was more enamored of Mercy than of this woman, Tasha.

And while we waited to see the product of love between Mercy and Rian...I went, and saw. And I Remembered.

Dear Mother,

Mercy gave birth to a son, of all things! She named him Justice, for the justice that his success would bring to my clan. And while I was angry at first - I had expected a daughter, I soon grew to love that little boy. And, I confess, I no longer felt like a male lost in a female world. His mother doted on him, but then, he adored her. Though I did catch her telling him about the equines in my homeland.

And so to distract him (and everyone else with their female nosiness), I added two guides to our home. This is Courage and Patience.

I thought you would appreciate it. I am sorry this missive is so sparse - as soon as the boy was able to speak, he was telling us fantastical tales that he made up - though I suspect you sent these stories to him. Nevertheless, he put his stories to paper, and spent his days either schooling or writing.

Soon enough, Mercy was old enough.

And Justice reached his age of majority.

And then Mercy joined us.

Dear Mother,

There is not much to report at this time. Justice remains firmly engrossed in his writing. His editors love him, for his masterpiece writings are, well, masterful. Though he writes about us, the young fool. And the rest of you, but most take it for fiction.

I am sad to tell you that Patience and Courage have passed on. And with their deaths, masks fell away. Those who were hidden were suddenly revealed. Faith and Justice were soon practicing the magic they had unknowingly suppressed their entire lives (with my help, of course). And with these masks stripped away, I could not deny them the chance to practice this. Plus, it helped take Justice away from his writings to remember who we were.

Of course, he found another distraction, in the name of a lovely young woman named Sara. Of course, this distraction led to a child for him, a girl named Claire. When I saw her, I laughed heartily. Even here, now, after so many generations, our blonde hair still passes down strongly.

Justice was as good a father as he could be, speaking with the child and playing with her often.

But always, he went back to the writing. It consumed him.

Dear Mother,

The day came when Justice had finally reached that time. And he knew what would happen. But did he tell us how he felt? No.

Instead, he went to his darling daughter, Claire, and asked her for a hug for moral support. Of course, she was happy to oblige.

The household was up early to celebrate. As for me, well I was relieved. My torment was over - no matter how tempered by the house of daughters and the last son.

Justice took his first taste.

AND IT IS DONE.

As required, we took our group photograph.

We also took a photograph of the many gnomes who invaded us over the generations.

And then Grace revealed to Constance and Charity the truth of their existences - they were the same as Her Royal Grace.

As for me?

I am coming home, Mother.

Thanks very much! It was an event, for sure, especially between working full time and weekly papers due for school. :o

The absolutely worst part is that 3/8 of my Dynasty has a preference for some shade of green. Which, while I like green, that was a bit much.

But the best part of above all else is how long that blonde has persisted. I'm really surprised by it, since the only spouses to have blonde also were Agnes and Octavio.
