Woooo! Thank you, Chuckles! :D So, if I uninstall and reinstall all my content, then start the game, that DCBackup thing will be there and it'll work? Or do I have to go through the massive route that Missa went through? I'm rather worried about that route because the last time I did a factory reset (for this reason) my legacy begun lagging a bit which never ever happened before.

Hi Fez. It will probably work if you just uninstall and re-install all of your premium content items, but I do think that using the factory reset method is the easiest.

I have been working out how to arrange all my downloads over the last few days - and premium content requires the ccmerged.package file in DCBackup. Each time you install premium (scripted) content information about it is stored in that file - so you can no longer delete everything in that folder. You can delete everything  except the ccmerged.package. So for things like the spellbook, the cauldron, the multitab 6000 etc - anything that has custom moodlets - you need to install via the launcher and keep that ccmerged.package file.

You can read more about it here and how to replace it if you lose it.

This is amazing. Wonderful for people like Fez who are getting stucked with not working tablets.

Factory reset, reinstalled the set, kept the cc.merged file. It still will not work. *sigh* :(

That's just nuts!  You've remove and re-installed the MultiTab 6000?  What is it doing that's not working even now?  Have you contacted EA Customer Service?

Just an idea but would say someone with a working ccmerged file and then having someone like Fez replacing theirs with this one work?

It's still the Tabcast that doesn't work, and the social game seems to work for about two seconds and then the sim just stops it and puts it away. I reckon I shall contact the Customer Service. :)

It's happening in my dynasty as well as my legacy, though - Two seperate sims 3 folders. What are the chances of both cc.merged files in both of those folders not working? :-\ Oh well, with my luck - the chances are pretty high. I'll contact EA and perhaps this might be fixed with a patch. The only other premium content I have is the baby swing, which works fine. Could it be that I have the baby swing in game right now that is affecting the tablet?

I've also tried everything to get the skills on the tabcast to work. But reinstalling the multiTab 6000 made my fryer and ice-cream maker work again, Weird.

I've noticed that my sim stops playing the game on her multitab if her fun bar is maxed.

Oh, that sounds like it may be normal to stop playing the game, then? It's reassuring to hear that someone else is still having the problem after the factory reset/reinstall etc.

That last one seems pretty normal. I don't have the item myself, but after I've searched Google to find a way to help you with this problem I found in the information according to this object that sims just stop playing when their fun bar is full, unlike other fun related objects.

My Sims only play a social game for a couple of seconds, too.  To me, that's just how long it lasts in Sim time.

@Fez:

I know you've probably already heard this, but when you set your Sim to listen to a tabcast, he/she will have a moodlet telling what he/she is listening to and how much longer it will last.  As soon as the next level is reached, the tabcast automatically stops.  And there are some things they cannot do at the same time.  For example, mine can meditate while listening to a tab cast, but cannot break boards.  So, it also depends on the activities involved at the moment.

My Multitab wouldn't work so I did the suggested factory reset to get the ccmerged file.  It's been working perfectly since then but there are some things that will make the sim stop listening.  Anything involving another Sim will make them stop listening.  However, I was able to send to a teenager to school and her father to work and they both listened to their tabcasts while at school/work which I thought was kind of awesome.   A teenage virtuoso with no former use of xylophone got to level 9 guitar in less than a week while learning painting, how to drive, going to school and playing with her dog.

Seeing as it's working for most other people, I'll try the factory reset again tomorrow.

The only thing that worked for me was a full clean install along with a full clean install of all store items. Instead of downloading them from the Sims 3 site into the launcher, I installed them in-game through the downloads dashboard. It was a pain and took forever, but completely worth it now that everything is working.

Honestly, the likelihood that it's the ccmerged.package that is broken is extremely high, even in both of Sims 3 folders.

Also, yes, you can use someone else's ccmerged.package in your game. If you want to do that, I recommend going to KT's Store fix at MATY. Click on the ccmerged-decrapped link. You can re-name the package to ccmerged.package and put it in your DCBackup folder, or you can put it in your Mods\Packages folder if you have mods framework. There's a link to this fix on my blog about the DCBackup as well.

Thank you, Nona! Will that be allowed for my dynasty? :-\ It's no mods allowed.

I've spoken to the customer service through email and I emailed them two weeks ago and they are still in the process of solving the problem. I'm guessing it's the cc.merged thing as well. I guess the only thing I can do is do factory resets until it corrects itself or something, although I will definitely install that fix into my legacy file. It least it'll work there. :) I may be wrong about it classifying as a mod, but it's a fix and that comes under that sort of thing, right?
