How do you make a garden?
« on: May 06, 2012, 07:31:55 AM »
Hello

I'm just wondering is you can have a garden on another plot other than your own because the meter keeps rising to much. I have the sims 3 Xbox pets and just wanted to know.

Thanks

Hi,

I have sims 3 pets for the Ps3... So they are pretty identical. You cannot make a separate garden on another lot. The fire meter is a huge annoying issue, but shouldn't affect your sim playing too much.

The bigger your lot, the higher the meter = the more things you can have. My tip is to move to a big house, I just moved to the $140,000 Gilman mansion through no cheats, just hard work. The fire meter is much bigger than if you expand on a smaller house, like the cheaper ones.

Move to a bigger house and do a rotation system. Plants only last for a few harvests, so, for instance, plant five plants at a time. This also makes gardening a less time consuming hobby because, believe me, tending twenty plants a day takes about ten sim hours and is impossible with work.

Try this, or have less things in your home. Please reply if you need any extra help!  ;D

Gingermouse, can I ask you a question about the fire meter?  I play on Xbox 360.  My sim is living near the lighthouse and I made my own home.  the fire meter was yellow, I added a Scraptronic(?) workbench and it immediately went orange!  So I undid the buy, but its still orange.  Any suggestions?

Sure! I'm not 100% sure, but I think your problem could be caused by a glitch not recognising that you deleted the item. Basically,  the memory space in the game lost by you adding that workbench did not go back up once you deleted it. This has never happened to me but, if the workbench you mean is the inventing one, you might have to move your sims to a smaller lot, add it again and master the inventing skill etc. or build a simbot, and then build your home again without it.

Also, the issue might go away once you reload the game. If you dont want to move, maybe re-ad the workbench and, if the fire meter stays the same, enjoy it lol! Then, when you sell it in a while it might go down again.

can't be of better help! :)

Thanks for all your help. I live at the same place but I have not a very big house and only three plants. It's really annoying because my family is getting bigger so I need to expand the house but once again the fire meter is getting in the way!

Thanks anyway!

Yeah, I resigned to the fact that unless I start playing on the pc, that I'll have to deal with this issue, too.  I have a  digital Sims 3 copy for PC, just waiting to afford upgrading the desktop.
