I need help with given an item back.

I need help. My sim got a job. The job was to fix a lap top. He fixed the lap top only to find out...

I can't return the lap top. I tried gifting it but the owner refused the present.

I can't put it back into family inventory but it's in my sims inventory.

What am I doing wrong?

Edit: If not, he will keep the lap top. Adds value to the house.

No, giving it as a present shouldn't work.

If it's in your sim's inventory, there should be a button above the wish panel.  The button collapses with the little triangular icon at its corner, so you might have to click that to bring it back up if it's minimized.  If the opportunity is completed, it should have a button to click that will say something like Return Computer and will result in giving your sim the command to find Joe Bob and give him his computer.  If the button isn't there, it means the opportunity isn't complete.  Are you using that to return the computer?

Umm..No I haven't. I will try again to see if I can find what your talking about.

Okay, I found a better picture.  This one shows the triangular toggle button and the window that pops up with it.  There's no clickable action button here because the opportunity hasn't been fulfilled.  If it were, there would be a button saying something like Deliver Gems.

You must take the laptop out of your sim's inventory. Put it on a table, go into buy mode and then put it in the family inventory.
