Ok, so teens can't travel what about a single Elder woman? Woman who are elderly can't have kids so she would be safe right? Or is that wrong too? I need to get the fishing books and know better than to take my main sims, but I have an elder woman so I was thinking ok I'll take her. Or should I get her married before going lol?

It's probably risky no matter what you do.  I recommend doing a separate "save as" right before you travel.  That way, if your game gets bugged from traveling, you can just play from the backup.  Give it a different name than the main game file.

Ok! I was playing another file last night, and I wanted my guy to go to Egypt, so I called Agnes over and had a quick wedding. I saved before I left, then when I was there, I saved under another name just for that reason!
