I don't know if there is already a thread for this, so I'm going to go ahead and post one.
See, here's the thing. My laptop doesn't really handle sims well. Keeps freezing, crashes, etc. Which isn't too much of a problem if you can easily get to an internet cafe, like I can. One of the IT guys kindly made the base sims 3 game permanent on one of the computers there, but yet there is another snag. I lose my progress and have to start over every time I come off. Frustrating, right?
I'm looking into getting a laptop that can more than handle sims 3 and all the expansions, just need to wait for my new bank card, but until then, I'm kinda stuck with playing sims either on a laptop where I have a chance to save but could get frozen, or have the game crash on me. Or at a internet cafe where I keep losing progress, and my starting person is never the same twice. Which can be so annoying when you are given a random sim with a face you just have to keep, then change all the rest, only to lose it.
Yet, my problem is this. After installing the game on the internet cafe computer, there have been no open lots in Sunset Valley, just four already built ones grouped close together. Why and/or how does that happen? How do I fix it? Thing is, I'm trying to play a dynasty game, just for the fun of it, yet buying an already built property isn't allowed, at least, not to start with. Oh, and before the empty lots disappeared, I could never find a 15 summer hill court in Sunset Valley.
