Hey, Seabody, may I say Habenero is hot?  Ok, bad pun.  As for the swing, have you recently deleted your Downloads back up folder including the ccmerged file?  If so, a factory reset will fix your swing problem.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

:D

Yes, I have cleared DCBackup fairly recently, but I know I didn't delete ccmerged.package. Besides, the MultiTab is working.  ???  Time for a topic in Miscellaneous Help.

Chapter Five
Progress

The days in the Pepper household have been hectic, and I'm still personally trying to keep up. Looking at my spreadsheet, I am still behind on the requirements. Particularly BlackOps -- Serrano, now a child, is repeatedly painting every time his needs, schoolwork, and family "requirements" allow (requirements meaning opportunities he is required to attend for his family, such as the Corporate Dining one that Habenero claimed). I figure he must be getting close to thirty paintings now.

As a child, Serrano is able to participate in Field Trips. I present to you the spectacle that is his free Bento Box. Origato!

In other news, Jake is now an elder. I left his hairstyle the way it is, since I don't control him much, but he's gardening. I also need to find a treasure chest! The family has around 50 Life Fruit and nowhere to put them. I'm repeatedly expanding their basement storage facility, but it's expensive. I'd quite like a $250 ish chest that stores infinite stuff, than a $250 ish basement that stores one Life Fruit.

I also want to make mention of Jake's recent accomplishment! He had maxed the gardening skill! Yes, he's indeed moving along nicely, although I haven't had Habenero start gardening until recently.

Also, a warning. The MultiTab 6000 - Sims will autonomously listen to Tabcasts! This is not good, because Habenero will now probably have trouble keeping her skills under wraps.

Until next time, though, enjoy these photos, and remember -- there are many more in my Gallery Album.

Habenero: Can you say Rubbish?
Serrano: -blinks-

Really quick update to say that I'm now playing with absolutely no Celebrities (even though Habenero and Jake are both 4-star, I hate Public Disgrace!) ;D

Another quick update to apologize for, well, the lack of updates. In the game, I'm actually quite far ahead compared to this point in the story (Serrano's about to Graduate and has Maxed Painting, Habenero has SuperMaxed Cooking, and is a Level 9 chef). I don't feel like I can possibly make up the difference, and it is also sometimes hard for me to update. Not only that, sometimes storylines get the better of me and I find my gameplay drifting off in a different direction. Therefore I will be continuing to play this Dynasty, but I won't be updating much, if at all.

I will continue to use this thread to post semi regular updates of my progress, but otherwise it won't be a coherent "story", rather a list of achievements, eg:

  • Serrano maxed Painting
  • Habenero became immortal
  • Generation 3 was born
  • Serrano graduates as Valedictorian
  • Jake dies

Except a bit more detailed. I'm sorry if you were a fan. :)

So it will be somewhat like what Teresa does with her Dynasties? Sounds good to me. I look forward to seeing more.

Yep, but, reading her Life States Dynasty, possibly less detailed. :-\

I don't mind. I know how hard it is to play the game and then write the story. Sometimes you forget and you're like, "Awww, man! That would have been a great thing to screenshot.". Either way, nice dynasty!  :D

Thanks! I know all too well - I don't think I photographed Serrano courting his first love.

Okay, so what's happened since I updated last?

First of all, I remodeled the house. I'm thankful to my thesims3.com friends (particularly Samoht and 1953) - I am getting maybe two gifts a day which is providing a steady income that complements Serrano painting and Habenero Cooking. I invested in an Alchemy Cabinet (Treasure Chest problem solved!), a car, a larger kitchen, a better toilet since the old one was breaking all the time, and a few recipe books.

Now what's happening in Habenero's world? She SuperMaxed Cooking! :D She also rolled a wish to Max the Culinary Career, so in addition to her LTW of Maxing it, she will also receive 9,000 extra LTHP bringing this total to 39,000 LTHP. :o

Serrano's doing well, he maxed the Painting Skill and will be SuperMaxing it soon, I hope. He also got a girlfriend! I would like to introduce you to the future Mrs. Serrano Pepper - Robin Rao! He also declared his LTW which made me rethink my plan. He was going to be a Forensic Analyst, but now he's going to be a businessman.

Quite a few updates today!

Habenero completed 4 of her requirements (Skill, Career, LTR, LTW), and is well on her way to completing her BlackOps - one more to go!
Those who are my friends on thesims3.com will undoubtedly remember my rants comments throughout play. For instance, Jake died.  :( But the game crashed, so he came back to life.  :) But I lost 4 hours of work. :( Serrano is also doing well, being his YA self. He's married Robin Rao, and he has SuperMaxed Painting! Robin is also pregnant! That's right, there's a nooboo coming! I very nearly gave her the Procreation Elixir though, thinking it would just improve chances of conception, but it turns out it'll affect twins and triplets too. So I sold it. ;D Thanks go to Leto, Ausette and 1953 - Leto for giving me a bottle of Friendship Elixir, Ausette for a $1,500 statue, and 1953 for a rug. All have been used, except for the Elixir - I'm saving it for an emergency.

Thanks for reading!

It is. I've been receiving (and storing) lots of useful elixirs.

What's been going on?

Well, here's a quick rundown of everyone's requirements (an (x) designates a requirement as complete):

Habenero:
LTW: 5 Star Chef (x)
Career: Culinary (x)
Building: Habenero's Coffeehouse (x) (renamed)
Property: Ophelia's Fishing Hole
LTR: No Bills Ever, Hover Bed, Food Replicator (x)
Best Friends: (she has some, but they're not claimed yet, as I'm waiting until she becomes immortal)
BlackOps: Burgerlicious, Corporate Dining, Learn a Recipe, Catfish for the Chef, Tough Negotiations
Portraits: YA, Adult, Elder (x)

Serrano:
LTW: CEO of a Mega-Corporation
Career: Business
Building:
Property:
LTR:
Best Friends:
BlackOps: The Art-A-Thon, Fresco Fest, Hospital Delivery
Portraits: Toddler, Child, Teen, YA

So. I'm glad I got Fresco Fest - and I interrupted Serrano's painting of a portrait to do it. He painted a Masterpiece of Habenero at Level 10 Painting with Fresco under his belt, and it was worth close to $4,000. I've never had Fresco before, and it does make a difference! I'm sad though, because Fawn Annan, the painter who'll paint Serrano's portraits, does not have Fresco so portraits of Serrano will be worth less. Regardless, she'll die, so the values will skyrocket then.

On the topic of death, Grimmy called again for Jake. I say again, because he died previously, but the game crashed on me. This landed the whole family with a Death Moodlet, because I'm still too cheap to get them Stone-Hearted LTR's. RIP Jake, you will not be forgotten (thanks for the $30,000 from the inheritance LTR, by the way!)

In other news, Serrano is saving up for the Motive Mobile. When he was at 40,000 LTHP, my first instinct was to get him the Philosopher's Stone. But, upon further investigations, it appears that the MM is simply 5,000 LTHP more expensive. So of course that's what I'll get! Serrano's LTHP count currently stands at around 43,000.

Finally, a little bundle of joy appeared in the world.
Please welcome Serrano and Robin's nooboo boy, De Arbol*, to the party. He gained the traits Artistic and Neurotic, perfect for our little boy. He'll be a writer. I'll probably also witchify him - I'm planning to do this to Robin soon.

*I'm not short on Chili names. All 8 are planned out. From Jalapino to Anaheim.

Habenero will be immortal very, very, VERY soon. I mean very soon. All I have to do is check her Best Friends, and she will be set for immortality. What else? De Arbol aged up to Toddler. He's a very cute one, in my humble opinion. I haven't taken him into a dresser to see his genetics yet, but I think he'll resemble his mother more than his father - Robin has a strong nose shape and I think that'll be a dominant gene.

Serrano also bought the Motive Mobile. I noticed he had a tad over 45,000 LTHP, so I immediately snagged it. Although I've been doing rather well to keep their motives up (feeding time is worst), this makes a humongous difference. I sent them out for a 10 minute drive and they came back fully refreshed. I also noticed that Habenero, when she came home from work in it, had her "Well Rested" buff increased back up to 10 hours duration, meaning that I will be watching some buffs like a hawk.

Robin, in her valiant efforts to be a non-useless-spouse, has taken up Alchemy, though try as I might, she just won't learn the Bottled Witches Brew recipe. She's the right Level for it, but I guess the odds aren't in her favor.

That's all for now folks. :)

Re: The Chili Dynasty II - Atauserk Otokrak
« Reply #29 on: November 30, 2012, 04:28:13 AM »
Schipperke was vigilant and spotted the anomaly in this thread - I received a PM from her about a week ago now commenting about the strange and sudden title change for the thread - to Atauserk Otokrak. Unfortunately, I had an update typed out but I tragically lost it when I refreshed the page accidentally. :-[ So here's an attempt at rewriting that update.

Atausek Otokrak

If you're an Inuit or perhaps a follower of Schipperke's old Otokrak Dynasty or my own failed Bonanza Dynasty (I still remember Rachel dying), no doubt you'd be familiar with the idea of an Atauserk Otokrak - Number One Immortal. Clever readers have already put 2 and 2 together, but in case you got 5 as an answer, here's a breakdown:

Habenero Pepper is Atauserk Otokrak. She's Immortal, Ladies and Gentlemen! ;D

So with Habenero becoming Immortal, and Serrano painting portraits sometimes worth upwards of $3,000, the Dynasty is humming along nicely. The Motive Mobile was indeed a wise purchase, and it's surely going to come in more help later, what with De Arbol being a Writer and all.

I chose Writing for De Arbol based on a recent Economics lesson about Passive Income - which is basically like Writing a Book and letting royalties flow in. Since De Arbol is a child, and he's already Level 4 Writing (I believe), he can write some seriously good books to get some seriously good income. Seriously.

Now down to brass tacks.

Serrano completed his BlackOps requirements, plus an extra one, "The Wright Opinion". This puts him clearly on the board with his requirements. Checking my handy-dandy notebook (lol), I can tell you that Serrano has two out of eight requirements in the bag. He's also got a luxurious new home to do them in.

Yes, the traditional Pepper home (nearly wrote Tuohy there, but I've been studying The Blind Side recently) has had a makeover into a Modern Mansion costing about $80,000 in remodeling built over a two SimNight period. It boasts a courtyard, pool, separate flats for both Serrano and De Arbol, each with their requirements in them - for example, De Arbol has a Writing Room complete with a Coffee machine and Library. Serrano has a Sculpting Station and a Painting Studio.

That's about it for today folks. Thanks for reading.
