New Create A Pattern Tool

Earlier this week the EA website had put out a News article for a New Create A Pattern Tool (which is supposed to be free), but then took down the article.   So I guess it wasn't supposed to be announced yet.   I've read it's supposed to be released sometime at the end July.  I was going to link the article, but didn't have time when I read it to post over here and now it's gone, but I did capture a pic of the tool! Muhahaha! 

So here is the pic of the tool they had posted earlier.  It looks like fun!

It was just an announcement, I know, but I really hope that this doesn't mean the Pattern Tool won't become available.  I've been wanting to create my own patterns.  I know I found a program on one website or another, but the whole process seemed rather difficult. Plus, I don't really have time to figure the ins and outs of a program.

This tool looks much simpler than what I've seen elsewhere, which is great!  So, hopefully, we see it sometime in the near future.

I'll leave the picture because there's really no harm in doing so. However, EA removed their own link for a reason. Either a) they're completely reworking their idea resulting in a much different concept than what's presented above, or b) they scrapped the idea altogether. Whatever the reason, players just need to realize that the final rendition of create-a-pattern will most likely be very different from the above image.

Yay! Any Patterns I get off the exchange never work so now we will soon (hopefully) be able to make our own!

I logged into the Sims site via the game launcher yesterday (went to get the Renault free car) and in the news section that came up on the launcher there was an announcement for the Create a Pattern. Didn't look at it immediately, and I've not checked if it's still there, but that screenshot looks great! Like a cheerful Photoshop!

I just happened to come across this IGN article. It's actually about Ambitions, so I'll post this also on that thread so that we can discuss that aspect of it, but it also has a note about this Create a Pattern tool. It will come out the 28th of July and can therefore now be safely verified to actually be coming out eventually.

Excellent. I haven't found anything I want to use yet to create patterns, they all look too complicated, but this one looks like fun.

Here is the link to the EA announcement about the Create A Pattern Tool.  They don't give a release date other than to say it is coming this summer.  They also have the pics back up, the one I caputured of the tool and the ones that were linked over to Snooty's site.  Should be fun.

Oh they do say summer! How northern-hemisphere-ish of them. Easy to get confused if you're from down under. I've only ever been to the northern hemisphere once in my life. Wait - checks location of Fiji - yep just once. Though Fiji is pushing it. So's Darwin I guess...

I have gotten the download as far as desktop.  I guess with everything else that goes wrong sometimes, it makes a person kind of skeptical on downloading anything, but this is an official download, so I am sure it will be fine.  Really neat though, to be able to do different patterns, yay.
