Designate rooms and beds to sims.
« on: April 26, 2012, 12:09:51 PM »
Is there a mod which can designate a room in the house to a particular sim? And/or a mod to designate a bed to a specific sim? So that others do not enter/sleep on that sims property?

You can lock doors to anyone but that sim to lock others out.  Also once a Sim sleeps in a bed, it's rare that they don't gravitate towards that specific bed when they are tired.

Such is EA Standard.  Manually directing your sim to sleep in a bed will designate that bed as their personal choice.

Simply do so for all the sims in the household, designating a different bed for each (or different bed side), and they should use the bed from then on.

I thought sims always choose a bed for their own after you've send them 2 times in a row or more to the same bed. At least, that worked for me.

I'm somewhat of a control freak and my Sims know it.  They wouldn't dare go to the wrong bed if I hadn't already chosen it for them.

Manually directing them once is sufficient. :)

I suppose I could put specific activities related to those sims behind doors which are locked and only assessable to those sims, and also place their beds in there. Some things really annoy me, for example, the video game volume on computers in the sims is FULLBLAST EVEN WHEN ZOOMED OUT, so I usually do not by a computer for my household because sims have this desire to always play pc games. However, I want to make a writer for example, I could put a pc locked into a room only they could access, and they would probably never play pc games [because of how I built them]. Same with painting easels and inventors tables.

Right now I put everything into a huge "activity/living/kitchen" room. Guess I can make several smaller rooms. Still, being able to left click something and limit who can use it would be nice. Such as clicking a stove and saying only x person can use it. so other sims don't burn the house down. All of my sims have a strong desire to make waffles and burn the house down.

Inge at Simlogical has just published a new door which will only allow sims of a certain age to use the door: Age Filter Doors. It's not exactly "assigning" rooms or objects to sims, but it may prove useful for some issues.

That's hilarious! Doors forbidden for elders, doors forbidden for adults, doors forbidden for teens, and so on. :P
