legacy and adventures
« on: May 11, 2010, 05:06:46 PM »
I am starting a legacy type game and I was wondering when playing a multi generation game do the adventures refresh or not? I am wondering because My goal for my own challenge is to complete as many LTW as I can and if I go on vacation and do adventures with a sim early in the game, then when I get to the LTW of Seasoned Traveler or such will I not be able to do enough Adventures to complete the LTW. Thanks in advance!!!

There are unique and common adventures. Tombs, for example, will not regenerate unless you start a whole new save file, so those adventures can also not be regenerated. However, other "adventures", such as bring a gem to him, bring some nectar to her etc. type of missions, do regenerate, so it's perfectly possible to complete the LTW for several sims.

EDIT: Does anybody know what will happen with the "Great Explorer" LTW? My gut feeling from toying around with tomb markers in the buyDebug menu tells me that you just have to get the sim to the tomb chambers of 6 tombs in each destination, but can someone confirm or disconfirm?

Thanks! This is good to know so I don't do too many tombs bofore I do the LTW that is fully explore 6 (i think?) tombs.  Does this mean that treasure in the tombs don't regenerate either?

I grappled with this a while ago.  I decided to make sure my founder in a Pinstar legacy had the LTW to explore six tombs, since it's the one that could be difficult to reset.

I also decided that the non-aging during vacations contradicted the challenge aspect, so I opted to only send Sims on vacation who had LTW's which required international travel, and only while they were still attempting to complete their LTW.

Thanks! that is a good idea. I might do that too but I like to give my sims their wishes and almost all of them want to travel at some point... but I guess it won't matter if I just have them sight-see :o) thanks!

Some treasure do regenerate, but most won't. Pangu's axe for example is completely unique and can only otherwise be acquired with cheats.

For the Great Explorer LTW, the actual description says that you should 'complete 6 tombs in each destination', i.e. it says nothing about it having to be in an adventure. If you've ever tried the buyDebug menu (aka. the tomb builder (can be opened with cheats)) you have probably noticed that you can set one tomb marker (an item in each room to designate what's a tomb) to being the tomb chamber. My theory was therefore that this LTW was directed to these 'tomb chambers', which would in non-cheat practise mean that even if you've completed a tomb, you can return with another sim to 6 different end rooms in tombs per destination, and this LTW would be completed. Now, I don't know if this is how it'll work so someone else may know more than me. :-\
