What the heck, rapid undoing?

I was working on a home. I had been sitting there for about a half hour building, when to my amazement, I watched all of my progress disappear as the game automatically undid everything in a matter of seconds! I could not redo it. I'm upset because I was doing a great job. Does anyone have an idea what happened?

No. In the course of 15 seconds, I watched move after move just undo until there was nothing left.

It sounds very weird - like you've been hacked or something. Did you perhaps download some CC or something recently that might have a virus? I'd run a virus scan and malware scan right away. I don't like it when my computer seems to do stuff without me telling it to.

I agree with Chuckles.  Do a scan for viruses right away.  Also, are you running any mods?

I am 100% sure I have no CC or mods. This has happened before, but on a smaller scale, and I can just redo what I lost. Very ood. I'll check for viruses.

This has nothing to do with your specific problem, but my game was lagging, freezing, bugging and crushing like crazy. For other non-Sims-related reasons I installed a program called CCleaner, ran it... and found 850 (yes, 850!!) registry errors in my computer. To my surprise, around a half were from The Sims' registry entries. That was probably due to incorrect/failed un- and re-installs. Anyways, I told the program to fix it all and now my game runs much better! I've never experienced this specific bug (or whatever it is) but I did have some very strange things happen in my game that don't happen anymore, so you might want to check it out.

Just a note in case you decide to do it: make sure you do the registry back up the program asks you to do! I've used many registry cleaning programs before and never had an issue with deleting the wrong files, but I've read it could happen so it's good to have the back up. And it's always good to check what the program found before you click on the "clean" button, just in case.

Just a little note, if it happens again, the usual trick of Ctrl+Y can redo the changes. Press and hold it to do a redo, where the undo will be undone.
