I'd say that charisma, instrument skills and nectar making are the hardest. Cooking and gardening are the easiest, though.

Instrument skills are especially hard if you're trying to max all of them! I gave my sim the "One Man Band" LTW. She's already maxed guitar (again, with the help of the tablet), now she has piano, bass and drums. She's at level 7 in each.

Wow! That's nice. I couldn't even max the guitar skill cuz i got bored. I never had a sim in music career.

Quick question - I see lots of people talking about a "tablet". Is this store content or something?

Yes. It's an object available in the store. You can let your sims listen to "tabcasts" for some of the skills and they will learn without having to do anything. You can even multi-task! For example, you can have your sim listen to the tabcast for cooking while they garden and they will be learning cooking and gardening at the same time. I think it costs 500 simpoints, but I don't remember for sure.

Logic does take ages but i'd say charisma as you need certain numbers of friends to advance. Then again, athletic can be difficult as you fatigue so that prevents you from exercising for a while :D

But I believe you can still go swimming, which helps raise the Athletic skill. Just more slowly.

I actually found Athletic fairly easy to max, especially if you're also in the Athletic career. (There's a career option that builds Athletic skill while you're working. It doesn't help you get the challenges for SuperMax, but it bypasses the fatigue problem)

Indeed, athletic is the only skill you're actually forced to stop every now and then, while there's nothing that prevent you from reading a skill book or fishing all day long.

On a side note, I find charisma very easy to max if your sim gets frequently in touch with a lot of people (playing an instrument around, or having a job like Stylist)... with the Celebrity Charisma challenge coupled with the Attractive lifetime reward you can have all the friends needed to meet the skill requirement just by randomly greeting people around. Of course trying to learn charisma just from books makes it the hardest skill to max out for sure. But if learned by the right sim, it's one of the easiest, in my opinion.

I will have to say Athletic, unless your sim is athletic it just takes ages for me!
The only skill i havent maxed is mixology, I found it also took forever and I always tend to get bored with it after a while.
I think it all depend on what traits your sims have, in my case almost all of the sims I make have the charasmatic trait so I never have a problem with charisma.

With Athletic, there are some things your sim can do while fatigued - Do a workout until you are fatigued, but you can still take an athletic class (provided a game isn't in progress). I'm pretty sure you can still play hopscotch while fatigued, though it is very slow. You can swim, but you risk drowning.

I thought you only risk drowning if your energy is low, not if you have the fatigued moodlet. I've had sims become fatigued without their energy getting too low.

I lost a legacy heir by sending him to the pool fatigued.  His energy wasn't that low, but he drowned anyway. I don't know if that was changed in a later patch (this was back when the only EP out was World Adventures) but at one point it definitely worked that way.

It wasn't changed. I just had it happen in my game. My sim's energy was high, but the camera suddenly cut to her when she was drowning and I saw the fatigued moodlet.

Probably charisma since you have to have all of those friends, but if you complete some of the challenges then sometimes as soon as you meet a person they become a friend.
