I really want to have twins on the Sims 3 game for Mac that I am getting soon! How do you do it? Is it a lot of work?

One thing that is suggested is that you get the fertility treatment LTR for both parents before trying for baby.

Also, this topic is in the wrong place. Mods, could you please move it to where it belongs?

Use fertility treatment, watch kids TV and if you have the genie, wish for more children.

Be careful what you wish for, especially if you use fertility treatment; kids channel and read fertility books. You could have triplets! What a nightmare!

I don't think the books give a boost to twins/triplets, but when I read them, I always get mixed gender twins, (using Fertellity treatment

I'm not brave enough to try twins yet, I have a single sim mom, artist, who I had adopt a baby, then when she aged up to toddler I adopted a toddler.  That has been fun, one needs a diaper change as the other wants to be fed.  One is going to bed as the other wakes up and needs to be fed.  In between trying to keep them clean, happy and fed your sim is trying to get some rest, fed and clean herself, plus painting pictures to have an income.

If you are new to sims, as I am, I would suggest you try with one.  Then later, after you feel comfortable in raising that baby, you can try for twins.
If you have played othter sim games and know your way around, then I wish you luck, it can be a lot of work.

Had a sim with fertility LTR, and her husband had the same. They both read pregnancy books while listening to kid music and I had triplets. Never again! Such a nightmare!

Was this topic originally in Miscellaneous Help?  If so, it's fine where it is.

The books don't do anything but grant a wish for reading them.  They don't give a boost for a multiple birth, nor do they cause mix gender births.  The mixed gender is now programmed into the game to happen quite often.

Just for the record Pam, the topic was originally in Ambitions.

Otherwise, the last time I had the parents read the books they had mix-gendered twins. Maybe I'll do a test on it and see what happens.

Not with the swing from the store. ;D

Even with the swing, it was a disaster when training them to walk, talk, etc. Also, 3 raging teens at the same time, Mom was beside herself! I sent them all to boarding school!

Thanks, Alex.

Even though you got mixed gender twins after reading the books, that doesn't mean the books caused it.  Mix genders are just happening now with no interference from the player.  It's a change of programming in the game from EA.

I want to make sure I have this right.

Have my mom sim get the fertility treatment, eat 10 watermelons, have WhooHow with dad and then watch Kids TV and or their radio channel and i will most likely have mixed gender twins.

Or does the TV and radio not matter?  It doesn't add any help to insuring mixed gender twins.

Does the fertility treatment with only mom insure that she will have twins or do I also need dad to do same?  Do NOT want triplets.

Janna, I don't think you need to have her eat the watermelons before woo hoo...just after she does her spin that tells she is pregnant. Then comes the fruit. If you give fertility treatment to both mom and dad you are almost certainly going to have triplets.
