Pets on Sims 3?

Just wanted to know whether or not you can have pets on the Sims 3 game for mac. Do you actually need the Sims 3 pets version to do this or can it be done on the original? Gratzi.

You need the expansion pack for Pets.

I think it comes with a new town , traits, clothing and hairstyles.

When you buy the Pets expansion, you get a new city; But, any town you are playing gets animals. My favorite is the horses. you can compete in racing and jumping with your horse. I even did that in Bridgeport (Late Night expansion).
So it depends if you like cats, dogs, birds, snakes, etc. Personally, in a big city cats and dogs are for the birds.

You need the expansion pack.  There is some new clothes added with it.  I don't know why, but I love it when new clothes are added.

You need the base game AND the expansion pack - you can't play with the expansion pack alone.
