How To Get Life Fruit?

This is probably a silly question, but I've been through several generations of Sims who reached the top of both the gardening and cooking skills -and in their spare time were constantly looking for rare, uncommon and special seeds- and I've still never found a life fruit one. Am I going about this the wrong way? They also know the Ambrosia recipe if that makes any difference.

Nope, life fruits are special seeds, but what you get when you plant them is random and doesn't really depend on anything I've seen. You may just have bad luck.
Keep trying with special seeds.

Yes, just keep trying.  It's unusual that you've gone so long without finding any, but I'm sure you will eventually.  Pick up and plant every Special seed that you find and one will be a life fruit seed sooner or later.

I always seem to find Life Fruit seeds around the Graveyard in Sunset Valley if that helps.

The graveyards are the perfect place to get special seeds, but what seed you'll get is random.
However, there are ways of distinguishing some seeds from each other when you have them in the inventory (without planting), as discussed in this thread.

Death and Life Fruit seeds cost $0 when you try to sell but money seeds cost something.

According to TheCub in that thread I gave, money tree seeds and death flower seeds don't cost anything. Flame and life fruits apparently do (can't personally vouch for that).

Looks like we have completely different theories.  I'll test it when I go back to my family with a garden and see if I can confirm it one way or the other.

With WA, the life fruit can be found inside the water pyramid (can't remember the official name of it).  You'll have to get the right opportunities and clear nearly the whole darn thing, of course.  Probably requires Pangu's Axe, too.

Might be easier to gather it the old-fashioned way.

I can confirm that Money Tree seeds have $0 value.
